This hotel location makes walking in Reykjavik a breeze!
Parking was hard to find. We used a pay lot just down the street, but be aware that it is locked up from midnight to 0700. We had a 0800 departure to get to the airport, so we knew it would work for us, but on a Friday night street parking was not available.
The rooms were very nice and the triple room has comfortable beds and good space.
Breakfast was a very nice selection.

This extremely well located hotel on the prime shopping street in busy Reykjavik is the find of the year! Incredible staff, beautiful Scandinavian designed rooms including a walk-in shower. Best of all, in comparison with the chain hotels, this independent hotel is extremely popularly priced. Do not think twice about booking this hotel. Most responsive in e-mail correspondence- helpful with GOOD tourist advice They even give you a loaner cell phone for local calls, maps and internet searches AT NO CHARGE. Great bedding including high quality comforters. Very quiet for a street entrance hotel.

Location, location, location...Very cute, clean, cozy hotel near many stores and restaurants. We upgraded our room to a Queen suite that perfect which came with a bottle of delicious red wine. The decor was beautiful and the bed was very comfy. The staff was soooo nice and welcoming. A nice little breakfast buffet is offered daily for about $20 per person. Parking was a bit tricky but there was a parking lot a few doors down for about $20.00 per day. Would definitely stay there again!

This hotel will meet and exceed your expectations. My sister and I felt that our traveling experience was enhanced by our warm friendship with the front desk agent, Justin.
What a great guy who cares about his people that need care and attention to create a activity filled experience. He had great suggestions for our 7 days at this hotel. Helpful and fun to know him. Booked this hotel through an Icelandair package. You cannot go wrong with booking your entire stay or just one night at Alda Hotel. Best customer service I have *ever* received, big thank you to all staff for your help! Excellent location, a few minutes’ walk from bus stop 10, restaurants and shops. I did splurge on breakfast one morning and it was worth it. Clean room, comfortable bed, plenty of space to charge your electronic devices. The cell phone provided during your stay is a wonderful idea and it came in handy. I hope to be back one day to Iceland and to Alda!
