Step out the front door and you are in the middle of town, a quick walk in any direction to the many options in Reykjavik. There is a Bonus grocery store just down the block.
This is not an inexpensive hotel but you definitely get what you pay for. We arrived jet lagged and not yet oriented to Iceland but were immediately taken care of and presented with ideas to begin our trip.
The hotel design is in subtle grey tones, rooms are well appointed. Robes provided for your trip down to the hot tub. Breakfast is amazing!!!! Traditional English breakfast items are offered along side Icelandic specialties and freshly baked breads.
The staff cheerfully stowed our luggage before check-in/after check-out.
Have only good things to say about his hotel. You will not be disappointed.

The rooms are simple stylish & very clean. The desk staff are so friendly and helpful. Luisa spent a lot of time with me to straighten out my tours. They gave me my room very early (8 am). The hotel is on the main shopping street with lots of cafes & cute shops. Walking distance to the harbor.

Loved the hotel. Great location and service. My only complaint was lightning in the room and the safe was on the floor. Very nice they give you a cell phone to use during your visit. The staff recommended great restaurant and suggestions things to do.

We loved Alda Hotel! The room was well-appointed and beautifully decorated, and the blackout curtains were the best.
The front desk staff were so helpful, with everything from a USB adapter to Blue Lagoon excursions to shuttle confirmations.
The hotel is in the quieter section of city center, but still an easy walk to all of the sites and bus stops.

Heads up no A/C. Basic room. Checked in early, bags tagged and stored. Bags are not in your room when you can check in. Really enjoyed breakfast. Nothing fancy. Nice place to get a nice meal if your tired. Not a great bar.
