We loved Alda Hotel! The room was well-appointed and beautifully decorated, and the blackout curtains were the best.
The front desk staff were so helpful, with everything from a USB adapter to Blue Lagoon excursions to shuttle confirmations.
The hotel is in the quieter section of city center, but still an easy walk to all of the sites and bus stops. More

Heads up no A/C. Basic room. Checked in early, bags tagged and stored. Bags are not in your room when you can check in. Really enjoyed breakfast. Nothing fancy. Nice place to get a nice meal if your tired. Not a great bar.

Perfect from the get go! From the minute we arrived to the moment we checked out everything and everyone was just great! I was with my 2 teen daughters in one room. We had two twin beds and an amazingly comfortable pull out, the “family” room. There was plenty of space for out things and the bathroom was also plenty big for the three of us. I am usually kinda “yucked out” by most hotels after a long stay but there was no time that we found any corners or under beds or anywhere that was not really well cleaned and kept up. Nothing worse then finding moldy shower corners! The staff was friendly, knowledgable and always available. The location could not have been better for is. Just at the edge of the main downtown and just about everything was well within walking distance. Tons of shopping and restaurants and the beautiful coast is just a couple blocks away. I can’t say enough, a great, great experience!

This hotel was modern and clean and came with all amenities we were looking for- sauna, gym, bar, and dining. It even has a barber shop in the front if you're looking for a trim or a shave! The hotel was right on the busy main street in downtown Reykjavik and provided a great starting point to walk to all of the major sightseeing in the city. The rooms were quiet, spacious, modern and clean! The staff were so helpful and even made dinner reservations for us.

My husband and I stayed 5 nights at the Alda. We had a first floor room not far from the front desk and fitness center. I was concerned it might be noisy, but it was quiet. The room was nice and clean. The front desk staff were always helpful and gave great tips for day trips or places to see and eat in Reykjavik. It's in a great location and easy to walk to many places. There is street parking, but we found it was easier to park in the parking ramp just a block down from the hotel since we had a rental car and were driving for day trips. That parking was about 10 US dollars, which was mainly for overnight.

Great location, easy access to many restaurants. Spacious accommodations in family room for 3 or 4 people No onsite parking, although we had no trouble finding a spot within a block. we stayed in the second floor in room 211 overlooking a the common area and spa. The room and bathroom was larger than most that we experienced through Iceland. Modern accommodations. Would recommend as a central spot for staying in Reykjavik.
