Lovely facility, and nice spacious (deluxe) room. But 1 of 2 switches by door, and the bedside switches did nothing. Perhaps lamp was missing. Half the (deluxe) room was grimly dark--and not usable for much. Should fix!More

This hotel is in a fantastic location in Reykavik -- right on the main shopping road. Walk to tons of shopping and restaurants! There is street parking, but you do have to pay for it (except for Sundays). My bed was sooooo comfortable and I wish I could have taken the comforter they provided home with me. Shower was great and the hair dryer provided was very good. I had the buffet breakfast one morning and it was plentiful and delicious. I had a very, very quiet room (in the back away from the street). Nice black-out shades over the windows, which you need in the summer time.

My wife and I were put up in this hotel because of an Icelandair problem. Three cheers for Icelandair for choosing this hotel for us. First and most importantly to us is cleanliness, Hotel Alda gets a solid 5 star in that regard. The desk staff were all excellent. We were given the 4th floor, deluxe king, with private balcony. Would recommend that room in a heartbeat. Location, breakfast and on-site restaurant get another 5 stars. No problems, no complaints, loved this hotel. Since we did not pay out of pocket for this stay, we cannot comment on price/value.

This hotel has kowledgeable and friendly staff that will ensure you are taken care of. The restaurant adjoining has yummy food. I've stayed here from the States all times I've been here and they have never let me down. So easy to get to food, bars, shopping, and tour/airport shuttle pickups

We stayed there several nights and loved it. Great location. Rooms are a bit small but normal for the area. Very impressive staff, though. They were extremely helpful. Iris, in particular, was top notch - very professional Some tips: the windows will open all the way if you figure out the latch. Another tip: they do a great job with laundry, but there is a laundry around the corner, that is less expensive. In fact, you can get to that laundromat by going out the door near the breakfast area. Love this hotel!

We stayed at Alda Hotel last month (June 2019) and had a wonderful stay. All persons working at this hotel are very friendly and very happy to help with your questions, requests, etc. The hotel restaurant is also very good and reasonably priced. The hotel is conveniently located in the main shopping street in Reykjavik and is not in the noisy part of the street where the bars are located.
