We stayed 4 nights at this hotel in June 2019. Very clean and room larger than expected. Excellent blackout curtains and very nice breakfast buffet. Front desk staff helpful and kind. The location was perfect and near an excellent restaurant. I would stay here again and recommend it highlyMore

Nice hotel with friendly staff, clean with good yet overpriced breakfast buffet and comfortable albeit smaller than anticipated rooms. Our room faced the Main Street, and it was pretty loud when we left the window open. Of course, it was great being located so centrally. Granted, everything in Iceland is highly overpriced.

The hotel was an excellent choice for us. It was far enough away from the nightlife, but close enough to be a very easy walk to everything. We opted for the breakfast and were very glad we did as it was an excellent way to start each day. They even provided us with a small little treat as we were celebrating an anniversary.

Excellent all round stay. Very friendly attentive service, wonderfully situated for the Center and a time comfortable room. Also good value (for Iceland). I didn’t eat there or use the bar. but the lounge was comfortable.

Great hotel in nice area. Close to sights, but yet not touristy. First night in Iceland was at this hotel, which was our only night in Reykjavik before heading out to other parts of the country. Front desk was helpful in storing bags as we arrived from states in early morning. Room was well-appointed and bed was super comfortable. Blackout curtains were effective. Great buffet breakfast with great staff as well. Would definitely recommend this hotel.

This was our second time visiting the Alda hotel. We first stayed here in November 2017, and loved it then! We came again in December 2018 as a special trip for my 30th birthday.
The hotel is in a very convenient location on the high street, which meant we were never far away from any shops, restaurants or bus stops.
The hotel is modern, very clean & we were well catered for.
We stayed in a deluxe room which was very spacious and well designed. It had tea and coffee making facilities, free WiFi and an amazing shower! Each room comes with a mobile phone which you’re given upon arrival, which can be used for the duration of your stay. You can use it to contact reception or use the pre loaded apps for things to do or see around Reykjavik.
We stayed for 5 nights on a B&B basis. The breakfast options were generally the same most mornings & there was adequate options to chose from. If you’re staying here, you must try the fresh ginger citrus shots they make at breakfast! Sets you up for the cold day ahead!
We did dine here one evening, and the food in the restaurant was fantastic. The lamb was without a doubt the best I’ve tasted, so fresh and well cooked. You do get a discount on your meal too if you’re staying at the hotel.
Overall, we couldn’t fault any part of this hotel either times we’ve been. Friendly & polite staff, very clean & modern and an amazing location!
