I went on this walking tour while visiting Iceland with my 14 year old son. We both thoroughly enjoyed it. We did it fairly early on in our week-long trip which turned out to be perfect because this tour is not your run-of-the-mill "on your left is the church (barrage of statistics) on the right is the museum (barrage of statistics)" type of tour. Yes we saw some key buildings on our tour (eg the giant Memorial Church, the Prime Minister's Office, the Cathedral etc) and learned some interesting facts about them, but what made this tour so memorable was the welter of tips as we made our way on where to get a good value authentic lunch, where to buy freshly baked bread and cakes, where to get ice cream made (yes made, not just scooped!) to order, where to get a good atmosphere if you want to go pubbing. Our guide was Hrannar and he was genuine, easy going, relaxed and passionate about his city and his country. He was a great person to chat to, to discuss questions about life in Iceland, and he knew about Welsh television drama which was an especial honour for us lol! The morning absolutely flew by and before we knew it 2 and a half hours or so had passed. Later in the week we were able to take advantage of nearly all of Hrannar's recommendations and what a difference that made to our visit. Even my son would say "oh look! There's the place he told us about!" Iceland was a stunning, unforgettable, holiday experience for us, the best adventure we have ever had. I Heart Reykjavik was not just a walking tour, but a passionate team whose website also highlights other tour experiences in Iceland run not by them but by other firms, but tours you can book through the I Heart Reykjavik website. We booked a number of excursions this way and each one was unforgettable. Thank you Hrannar and the team for making us feel so welcome and for helping us have a simply wonderful and unforgettable week. James and Huw

Reykjavik is a small city and it is pretty easy to see it all on your own. And we had the day prior when we arrived and walked ourselves around town. But we missed so much, and that's what makes I Heart Reykjavik walking tours so wonderful. Our guide, Olof, was lovely, and took us to great street art, a sculpture garden we never would have found, and government buildings we didn't notice, and along the way pointed out great shops, restaurants and the hidden "toys" all around the city. She answered all our questions about life in Reykjavik, and we passed a pleasant and informative 2 hours. Highly recommended.

After arriving in the wee hours and getting minimal sleep, we joined the I Heart Reykjavik walking tour. It had come highly recommended by friends - and exceeded our expectations. Olof was funny, charming and very knowledgable. It gave us a great starting point for the downtown and we can't wait to try the pastry and coffee shops! Thank you for a wonderful introduction to your city.

Olef, our lady guide, was amazing. She was very patience and passionate about her job. She showed us many places around the church and answered all our curious and sometimes ignorant questions.
Bravo, really knowledgeable and welcoming!
