“Interesting way to start your trip to Iceland”
Reviewed June 17, 2012

We've visited this museum twice, both times on the same day of arrival. It is a nice way to start your trip to Iceland.

“Awesome exhibits”
Reviewed June 15, 2012

This is a great museum. I strolled the exhibits at a leisurely pace, reading through most of descriptions, and finished in just under 3 hours. You can learn a great deal about the nation on this visit.

I also loved the small special exhibit of World Chess Championship between Bobby Fischer vs Boris Spassky in 1972.

If you plan on visiting museums in a short time span, do buy Reykjavík Welcome Card, which gives you free entrance to this museum.

I would not recommend it for small children.

“Honest history”
Reviewed June 14, 2012

Traditional museum, free of "infotainment". Kept its distance to Saga fantasy, good! Very good and interesting exhibit about genetic reseach into the origin of the first settlers. Go and take your time!
