My wife and I came here for our honeymoon. The location is perfect and the staff is friendly. Each day we had our room serviced is was done very well. The front desk was helpful with any recommendations as well.

The only weird thing was the bathroom lay out. The mirrors start very high (shoulder height) and are recessed back. My wife had to use the in-room full length mirror to get ready instead of the actual bathroom mirror. I found it hard when I was shaving as well.

First time in Reykjavik I have no idea where to stay. Randomly chose center hotel thingholt. It turns out to be a god choice. Very centrally located just 200 m away form Hallsgrimursjirka and all the sights such as harpa and harbor. Hotel itself is neat. Room is clean and modern. Soft lights and comfortable bed. It comes with kettle for coffee. And safe. Staff very friendly and helpful. Will use them again next trip.

The hotel is in a perfect location, only a 2-3 minute walk to plenty of restaurants and also to bus stop 6 (where most tours will pick you up). It’s also not too far from the main bus station if you’d rather not wait for or pay for an onward transfer from there to the hotel (most airport transfer buses only take you to the main station and you pay extra to be taken to your hotel from there), being about a 30 minute walk.

We had a standard double and it was really small and got quite cramped but was very modern and they saved space well. Bathroom was a nice size and had a lovely walk in shower.

We didn’t have dinner at the hotel but we did have breakfast every morning which was really useful given how expensive Iceland is. There was the usual breads, cereal, yoghurts etc and a small hot selection.

I wouldn’t recommend paying the extra for access to the spa. It’s very well decorated and clear and modern but its just a large heated shallow pool and a steam room.

Overall I recommend staying at this hotel. We thought it was great and really good value for money.

Clean, modern, sleek, absolutely comfortable. Large room, slept great, felt refreshed every morning. The breakfast buffet was well prepared and presented. But the reception desk staff and the young ladies in the restaurant were friendly, quick to attend our needs. Would highly recommend

The service here was great from check in to check out, great rooms as well. The location is perfect, easy to get to and get out of. The shops and restaurant are all very close to the hotel which makes it very convenient.
