we stayed here for a week and it was fantastic, friendly staff and very close to the main shopping streets and restaurants, hotel was very modern and the rooms were cleaned every day.

happy hour every day is from 5 until 7 and the bar has a friendly atmosphere with great staff, Buffet breakfast is very good and lots of choice to eat even after 7 days.

This is the jewel in the crown of the centerhotels and would recommend to everyone

We stayed here for 3 nights last weekend.

Positives
The location was perfect, literally off the main shopping street where all the bars and restaurants are.
The staff were amazing, very friendly and helpful and couldn't do enough for you.
The rooms were very modern and clean and very comfy.
Free wifi not just in reception but in your room too.
Happy hour between 5-7 every day!
Breakfast, there was a good variety of pastries, cereal, breads, fruit, cooked food and juices.

Negatives
The noise at night. We had a room looking onto the street. We stayed Thursday until
Sunday and the music was terribly loud both Friday and Saturday nights. My husband and I are 27 and 31 and love going out but the music went onto 4/5am both nights and kept us awake. Make sure you get a room at the back or take ear plugs - this is the reason why I can't give this hotel 5 stars.
The lighting in the rooms is very dim, luckily the bathroom lighting is good for putting on make up, etc.

Tips
The hotel can book any trips you want and it's easily done!
They can arrange hotel transfers, etc and can let you know if the northern lights tours are on.

Overall I would highly recommend this hotel but don't forget the ear plugs!! The location was the best point of this hotel.

Just returned from a 4 night stay at this hotel. Great central Location within walking distance of all the main sights and restaurants. The buffet breakfast was excellent with a great selection, including bacon, sausage, scrambled eggs and potatoes. The reception staff were so helpful and seem to go out of their way to help with booking excursions, confirming hotel pick ups etc.
We had a room on the 4th floor with a fabulous view over the harbour. Other positives of the room were free Wifi, tea and coffee making facilities and a big TV with UK channels
There were however some negatives to the room, thus the reason for only giving this hotel a "very good" rather than "excellent" rating overall.
The room (even by European standards) was tiny, but I think the 4th floor rooms are smaller than the other rooms. There was also no privacy at all to be had in the bathroom which is only separated from the room by frosted glass. This did not bother myself and my husband too much but I can imagine this may be a problem for others. The shower is small and there is no space at all to hang any towels to dry. The room might be very "trendy" but I don't think it was very practical.
Overall. I would recommend the hotel, but suspect that there are better hotels in the area for a similar price.

Having visited Iceland nearly 10 years ago, I booked a package deal for my husbands birthday.

Overall the hotel is very much geared around design. It is conveniently located just off laugervegur so highly accessible to all the restaurants and waterfront. The rooms where a nice size, with a great walk in shower and even enough room for a large sofa. It was also very clean.

What we didn't like so much was

The dinginess of the reception / bar area - the decor seemed a little outdated and dark even though it is 'Fendi'.

The breakfast - we tried it once - absolutely awful. Even though it was part of our package, we went to nearby eateries instead.

The windows where not effective in blocking out street noise, as it does get a little rowdy!

All in all, good hotel in a nice location.

we have just returned from 4 nights in reykjavic and are so glad we chose this hotel. We stayed in a junior suite and the room was fab, great minibar, loads of tea and coffee free in room and a tv with English channels !! The location is perfect particularly as it was -10 or colder all of our stay it was so important to be close to bars and restaurants - which we was. ! Staff and Icelandic people in general some of the friendliest we have met anywhere in world ....... Great hotel !!
