We stayed right on Laugavegur and found it to be the best location to stay. Everything you need is here ranging from supermarkets to restaurants to access to most walk-able tourist sights.

Laugavegur is one of the main streets in downtown Reykjavik -- boutiques, pubs and restaurants abound! An easy place to walk and shop (or window shop). Beautiful at night time and during Yule with the lights and decorations!

Was there in November so the streets were lit up. There were many shops to look at. The were also a lot of street art in this shopping area so it made walking along this street fun and interesting.
