This tableau museum gives a no-hold-barred history of Iceland primarily from a blood-and-guts approach. This is perfect for pre-pubescent boys who tend toward the battle-loving, bloodthirsty side of things. The tableaus are so lifelike that we truly thought several had live actors. The audio tour is well worth it, as is the printed guide to take home.

it was a great way to learn some Icelandic history. They did a good job with the exhibits and the stories. Gave us a good start on the cultural history of the land.

It was a pleasure to drop by this museum, as you jump into icelandic history in a very pleasant way. It is a very straight to the point attraction, and on top of that, you still have a beautiful view of the city next door..

A bit out of the way from downtown Reykjavik, but a neat way to learn about the Sagas through wax exhibits. The whole audio guided tour is an hour and not much else to do in the building if you arent eating a fancy dinner later. But we liked it. Sometimes wax exhibits can be cheesy, but they did a pretty good job with this one. Dont fall for the guy watching the "how it was done" exhibit at the end. We totally thought he was real.

It was interesting to learn about the history of Iceland by that kind of animation with good commentary.
