Good location close to the port (whale watching and puffins tours) and bus station (Reykjavik excursions). Breakfast is very good, the cleaning services are good as well. The only one minus is our view from 104 room.

The room was clean and well maintained. The bed was comfortable. Front desk service and information was excellent. The only negative aspect was having walk about 3 blocks with our luggage to meet transportation to the airport and sightseeing tours.
Chose this hotel for its proximity and price. Room was a bit older and no view to speak of. Breakfast buffet (included) was fantastic and front desk staff friendly and very helpful. Would recommend for anyone looking for a short stay in Reykjavik.
We stayed 2 nights. The room was tiny. We had difficulty even putting our suitcases down. The shower was very tiny too. We paid for a sea view but it ended up being AUD$450 a night which would put us in the most expensive hotel in Australia. The breakfast bar was crammed and the selection was limited. It certainly wasn’t up to the standard of a hotel charging such prices. Water smelt of sulphur. Otherwise it’s in a good location. Value for money though....they are ripping tourists off.
Room was very comfortable. The breakfast was great with many choices to chose from.
Best of all was the front desk staff. They were very helpful in answering any and all questions and booking tours. They were always polite and courteous.
Let’s start with counterpoints to negative reviews...double billed (human error can happen anywhere), grumpy staff (no, just working hard and not supposed to be your buddy buddy), bathroom doors not closing all the way (don’t be so uptight)...ignore them.
1. This is not America so don’t expect American standards.
That said, this hotel was clean and comfortable. The hotel staff works hard and long hours, especially at the front desk. They are friendly and accommodating and also have lots of people to process and assist...this is a very popular hotel so they want to move things along.
2. Location Location Location
This is set at the foot of the most popular street and oldest/original street in Reykjavík. Everything is in walking distance.
3. Noise
Get a room on the backside of the hotel-views of the mountains and harbor...also this is the QUIETEST side. Wed-Sat nights are popular social nights and can get loud on the streets, however, outdoor music and noise will end at 11pm so anything after that is overly served or very enthusiastic night partyers.
4. Breakfast
The rush hour is 7:30-8:15, give or take. It is a buffet and very typical of every other place I was...actually if anything, it was on the more robust side of offerings.
I WOULD STAY HERE AGAIN.
