Great location...that’s it

For the amount of money this hotel cost I would have expected a bit better. The room and bathroom are very basic, and the room location very noisy. The breakfast leaves a lot to be desired. Let me also add that I am very well traveled and have stayed in numerous hotels, this was by far the least enjoyable. We also had an early flight in the morning and requested to have a little bit of breakfast before we left. We were told we could have a croissant. Other hotels I’ve been at in Europe have offered breakfast boxes which include pastries, fruit, sandwiches, juice and water...not here. We even just asked for a hard boiled egg which they have regularly at breakfast (mind you the entire egg comes off in the shell but at least it would have been something), but they couldn’t do that either.

I would not recommend this hotel unless the only thing that matters is the location...although, there are plenty of other hotels around where we are.

Basic hotel

Great location, rooms were clean, but for the price it was just a basic hotel. Staff was a bit dour. Breakfast was ok but had long lines. Shampoo/soap is in squeeze bottles fastened to the wall. We were expecting a bit more considering how expensive it was. Note that the airport transfer does not come directly to this hotel.

We are thrilled to hear that our great location in the heart of Reykjavík was convenient for you, and the cleanliness up to the standard you should expect while staying at Centerhotels.

As we are aware of the impact plastic has on the environment we provide the shampoo and soap in refillable bottles on the wall. In case you will visit us again we do have smaller bottles at the front desk and we are happy to provide them upon request.

Sweelim

Centrally located ,affordable and staffs at the reception very friendly and helpful . The breakfast provided was good and they do cater for early guests who need to leave early to the airport or join local tours

Good hotel, a bit expensive

Generally good hotel but for the same price I stayed in a thermal bath spa hotel in Tokyo City Centre.
The rooms are nice and modern.
It is located in the middle of the centre of Reykjavik. We had a nice view from our room (which also made it noisy a cause of the parties outside, but not until too late).

Iceland in August

We arrived after a nightmarish flight on a plane with bad seats. My back was badly out, and the front desk was able to find us a room early so that I could stretch my back out and relieve the spasms. The room was clean and comfortable. Outlets by each side of the bed, and good lighting with switches placed conveniently. In the WC, towels and soaps and hair dryer were right at hand. Shower was good with instant hot water and good pressure. Tea and coffee (instant) were provided in the room with a kettle. The entire hotel was clean and comfortable. We plan on staying there again, on a layover between the US and Europe. The hotel is located at the end of the main pedestrian shopping street, with plenty of restaurants and bars of all types, from very inexpensive to quite pricey.
