Stayed here after reading other reviews and wasn't disappointed. The Flybus takes over an hour by the time you get in from the airport to the bus station then transfer onto a smaller coach which takes you to the hotel door. But they are well used to such late arrivals (about midnight from Glasgow flight) and there was no problem checking in.
The room was clean and fairly spacious with good thick curtains to ensure the long daylight didn't bother you while sleeping. We were at the back of the building so it was quiet. Mattresses were a bit soft for me but that was the only downside. The breakfast was very good with a large hot and cold selection.
The main benefit was the fact that the hotel is bang in the centre of the old town of Reykjavik. Excellent for bars and restaurants. The likes of the Nordica is well outside and appears to be on a busy road surrounded by large industrial buildings.
Food can be expensive in Reykjavik but a tip for a cheap lunch is to make up your own salad from the good, fresh selection at '24' supermarket, 5 mins from the hotel. It cost about £3.
I would definitely recommend this hotel for convenience and quality of accommodation for the price.More
