I travelled to Iceland in October 2010 to witness first hand the Airwaves Festival. My travel agent booked me into the CenterHotel Plaza, neither of us had any clue this was the center hub for the festival. As a single travellor - I did not mind the additional traffic!
The room was quaint. European standards for hotels differ from North American. I knew this from treks to Europe earlier, so there was no shock. There was free internet, always a plus. Ample space for storage. The bathroom was clean. My only complaint with the bathroom - there is no vanity or shelf, well there is a single bar shelf - but one in the shower for shampoo/conditioner would be nice. As well as another for a normal size toiletry bag would be a great addition.
The location of this hotel is absolutely the best point. You cannot beat this hotel - especially if you are doing nightlife in Reykjavik! If you had a room in the front, yes you may here noise - I did not have any issue with noise. Although when I pass out it'd take a freight train to wake me!
The last highlight - BEST BREAKFAST out of any of the other hotels I stayed at!! Enough bacon to clog an artery and a great assortment of anything else! And it's freeee!
I would completely stay here again!More
