I had a room on the top floor here for 3 nights. It was well kept and comfortable. The beds are fine and the wifi good (in all rooms apparently). The continental breakfast is nice with enough on selection to keep you going til later. The landlady is helpful and will book tours if necessary or just advise on the best places to go, etc. The position of the house couldn't be better - just a short walk from the city centre and in a nice quiet area. Take your shoes off after entering as no walking shoes allowed in rooms. I never saw any thermal pool as advertised but that may have been because I arrived after heavy snow and it was pretty icy the rest of the time.

Room Tip: Any room here should be ok.

I stayed at this guesthouse early January for 5 nights in Reykjavik. We had a great time here. The hosts, Evelyne and Phillips, are very generous and friendly. We arrived pretty early on the first day, and Evelyne was willing to wait for us for check-in. The rooms and bathrooms were always clean. The breakfast was substantial and delicious. I especially like the sild and the collection of tea! We woke up late one day, and Phillips was waiting for us for breakfast.

The guesthouse also has an amazing location, very close to everything, like 5 mins walk from BSI bus terminal and 10 mins to the main shopping street. Evelyne could also arrange everything for you e.g. northern light tour, blue lagoon, etc. She was always there if you needed help to call the tour company.

HIGHLY RECOMMEND this guesthouse to anyone who is travelling to Iceland!

I booked this place originally because all the other famous big ones are full, but it turned out to be my favorite.

It's a small hostel runned by an couple, and they are very friendly and helpful.
1. The room is clean, with water sink in the room.
2. Internet is fast.
3. The kitchen is located on the first floor, and they provide the seasoning.
4. The house is very quiet.
5. They provided free breakfast with a lot of choices. ( oh, I love the icelantic yogurt so much). On Chirstmas eve, the aunt and uncle prepared a lot of snacks and wines for us to celebrate the Christmas together.
6. They are always there if we have any queations, and they were very helpful with trip booking and pick-up service booking. and they always helped us checking whether the pick up bus arrived or not, and make sure that we were on time for our trips.

Overall, highly recommend it to everyone. and i will definitely stay there again next time when we travel back in summer.

The Guesthouse was the perfect place to stay for our four night trip to Iceland. The room was large and the beds were comfortable. The shared bathrooms were plenty to share between the rooms, and the shower was hot and powerful. A continental breakfast is served from 7.30-9.30 but the wonderful hosts, Evelyne and Philip, even got up to serve guests breakfast at 3.30am before leaving for the airport (despite us insisting we could manage without). Free tea and coffee was available at all times, and on most of the days we stayed Evelyne had left out sweets and biscuits for the guests too.

We were fortunate enough to stay over New Year's Eve and we were treated to a free party with nibbles and champagne in the lounge downstairs which was very generous and an excellent way to celebrate the New Year the Icelandic way before heading out to the fireworks. The hosts are happy to arrange trips and to help out, without being pushy, and we were also loaned towels to take to the Blue Lagoon.

We found the free wifi connection throughout the hostel very useful for planning excursions, and the rooms were adequately heated. They were also cleaned every day.

The location of the hostel was perfect, near to the central lake and a very short walk into town. We hired a car for our trip and had no problem finding free on street parking outside the hostel too. We would not hesitate to recommend Baldursbra, and especially the hosts, to anyone.

The Guesthouse is great in any way, I found it to be a wonderful value during my week in Iceland. Very considerate hosts even let me take a few nights away to see more of Iceland's countryside. Good breakfast, clean everywhere, and the hot tub was very nice..nothing like natural water to soak in.. Evelyn will make sure the tub and sauna are at proper temperature just let her know you intend to utilize them!

5 minute walk to BSI bus station(Save $ on transfers), The harbor(Lobster Soup!), and flea market, and the main shopping and social streets.

Room Tip: Wide variety of room types and sizes from what I could tell, I paid for only myself and received a room with two beds.
