We stayed here at the end of a hiking trip. The hotel was very nice but compared with the cheaper Center City hotel the tour operator booked us into earlier on the trip, not all that much different. We had a room on the second floor which got us a lot of street noise, including from the street entertainers and buskers a block over from the hotel. The hotel has steam heat so there is no ventillation system, and there was no choice to opening the windows to get the room cool enough to sleep confortably. Thankfully the street noise ended around midnight and the residents seem to sleep in.
The room was nicely furnished and the furniture/woodwork was in pretty good repair. As with all hotels we stayed at in Iceland the curtains did not do an adequate job darkening the room here, either, so we used our eyeshades.
Breakfast was not included in our room rate and seemed overpriced so we ate at the Cafe de Paris or the Laundromat, both just about a block away and very nice.
The hotel's location is very convenient and the desk staff was helpful in extending a late check-out and arranging for an airport pick-up.
