Recently enjoyed a truly delightful first time visit to Reykjavik where we stayed for 8 nights at the Hotel Fron which is centrally located on Laugavegur and convenient, in walking distance, to many of the city's attractions. Our room - facing the back - was comfortable, clean and very "good" value. The front desk staff, especially an enthusiastic night time female clerk, was helpful in arranging excursions. Breakfast was included and consisted of the usual Northern European fare: coffee/teas, juices, cold meats, cheeses, breads, fruit, yogurt and cereal. If we were to return to Reykjavik, we would most definitely book our accommodations at Hotel Fron.

Hotel Fron is in the heart of the city. Everything is within reach. The staff were very accomodating, friendly, and helpful. The beds were excellent: very very comfortable and exactly what you will need after a challenging activity. Noise was not an issue during our stay. One suggestion to benefit the hotel more is just to offer a slight variety of breakfast every other day.
Thank You hotel Fron. It was a very pleasant stay.

I spent 3 nights at the Hotel Fron. It was in the heart of the city on the main street where all the action is. The staff was mostly helpful. My room was small but completely adequate. The room was quiet and warm, the bed was comfy, the linens were nice. Great water pressure in the shower. They also had a real hairdryer with a plug. The price was reasonable and breakfast was filling. I would definitely stay here again.

Room Tip: I was on the second floor and liked it.

Cannot in any way complain about the location. Super central. Walking distance to everything.
Previous reviewers complained the rooms too small. We had plenty of room for two people to spread out. We had heard of the noise of the nightlife, but our room in the annex building outback was wonderfully quiet.
Staff was accommodating and offered to make restaurant reservations. Only wondered why they didn't provide clean cups and glassware, even when we put them on the floor by the door.
Great place, location and price.

What more could you ask for? The location is the best, it's sparkling clean, warm and comfortable. We asked for rooms at the back to minimise street noise, and were given a large room on the top floor with a sofa, armchair, desk and small kitchenette for no extra charge! The staff are friendly and helpful. The flybus driver and car rental agent both knew exactly where it was and everybody speaks immaculate English. Try the skyr at breakfast, it's delicious.

Room Tip: Rooms in the rear building are quieter

We (with our 3 children ages 9, 7 & 3 at the time) stayed here for a week this past July and were very pleased with the Hotel Fron. We arrived around 12:30 am and found we had been upgraded to a 3 bedroom apartment and the hotel had left milk & cookies waiting for the children- a very nice touch. The room itself was not super fancy, but was clean, spacious and more than adequate for our needs. The location could not be beat and we loved wandering the streets nearby. We found the breakfast to be good, not great. It was nothing fancy but very convenient to have right there. The staff was very pleasant and helpful. Overall, we were very pleased with the Hotel Fron and would absolutely stay there again when in Reykjavik

Room Tip: If you have children, ask for a room in the back- it is much quieter! Laugavegur is a very busy stre...

This hotel is set in the heart of Reykjavic, right beside the best restaurants and pubs. It's very clean and comfortable, our room had a fridge, cooker and mini bar! It also has a free safety deposit box and free wi- fi. Breakfast is continental cold buffet, cereal and toast. The hotel reception was able to organize all our trips and car hire. On a side note Iceland has tourist info and organization down to a T. It's he best organized country I have ever visited and I never seen a PR person once! Back to the Hotel, the only downside at the weekend was the music from next door, but it wasn't bad enough to ruin my sleep. Eating and drinking is expensive in the hotel bar/ restaurant, but the whole of Iceland is like that. It's worth saving up for a one off trip

Room Tip: The quieter rooms are at the back of the hotel
