My husband and I have just returned from this hotel having a lovely stay. Very clean with friendly staff , shower was lovely as was continental breakfast . Had room with view of snow covered mountains and the sea . Walk to town about 30 mins pack your thermals as quite cold with the wind . Saw northern lights (amazing) , blue lagoon , whale watching ( no whales saw dolphins ) and went up the mountains on quad bikes , so much we didn't see would definitely go back need lots of money as expensive !

Stayed in this hotel in Feb 2014 for 5 nights. It is obviously a new hotel and the place is clean and sparkly. The decor is somewhat Ikea-ish and minimalism but this is more of an observation rather than a complaint. There is a small circular bar next to reception and there is no restaurant in the hotel. Breakfast is served in a fairly sterile area on the reception floor. The food was good. Continental style (obviously) with a small selection of cereal and a vat of porridge in the corner.
There is good quality free Wi-Fi throughout.
The rooms are all inspired by the old Icelandic calendar and seem to be white walls with a coloured feature wall. The bathroom contained a walk in shower with good water pressure and temperature. Service was completed every day and the room was tidy. The beds were comfortable but only one pillow was provided and that was a little thin.
The reception staff seemed a little po-faced seemed to find it hard to smile. they were, with one exception knowledgeable and helpful. The only exception was one told us the wrong time for a northern lights tour and we missed it. Fortunately, they rearranged it for us without any quibbling.
In summary, I would be happy to go back there but would consider somewhere a bit closer to the centre of the city.

We stayed 3 nights at the Reykjavik Light Hotel and we couldn't fault a thing. Rooms were lovely with fabulous views toward the mountains. Very comfortable and quiet. Breakfast was terrific, with lots of choice, and the staff were very friendly and attentive, they couldn't do enough for you. A very enjoyable stay. Food at the Brassier Askuar a few building down the road was fabulous.

We stayed at this hotel for 4 nights from the 7 - 11th February a fresh clean modern but simple designed hotel. We had a room on the 7th floor and had a fantastic view of the mountains, the rooms are compact but have all the storage you need warm clean and very quiet at night, the hotel staff were very friendly and helpfull. The breakfast area reminded me of a canteen and i found it very limited for space the food and utensils were all along one wall and at busy times you had to scramble around other guests reaching for plates cups etc. 1 very slow 4 slot toaster so sometimes you had a long wait, there were cerials, bread, friut/yogurt or meat/cheese the choices available were also the same every day, however the food available was nice, icelanders do make amazing bread. The hotel is in a strip of hotels which all have restaurants so you dont have far to go for an evening meal or Reykjavik town is a 10 minuite taxi ride away or a bus stop is across the road for a 20 min trip. Overall we really enjoyed our stay at this hotel and had a great time exploring Iceland its an amazing place and we will be back to see the things we ran out of time to do and stop at this hotel again.

Room Tip: Choose the 7th floor a room facing the mountains for the best view we saw the northern lights and wo...

Really fresh and clean hotel, wonderful decoration based on the ancient icelandic calendar which was really interesting. No messing, no faff, just everything you need. Pretty easy to walk in to the city centre along one road, takes about half an hour. Beautiful views of the mountains from the front rooms. Good local take outs, supermarkets etc. Rooms are small but cute and so clean and lovely. Reasonable bar (by comparison to the rest of the city!) and good basic breakfast. Lovely staff. Basically my perfect hotel if you're after no faff, lovely fresh decor and a friendly, easy vibe. Oh, and crazzzzy comfy beds!

Room Tip: Rooms on the front have views over the sea and the mountains :)

Stay 4 nights at this very modern and very clean hotel approximately 10 minutes outside to city centre, via bus, (25 minutes if you walk). The rooms supplied everything you needed to rest after a busy day out and about. I must stay the shower pressure is brilliant. Breakfast is the basic continental, but there is plenty of it. Although there is no evening restaurant at the hotel there are plenty near by. The bar in the lobby is small but agreeable with prices the same as London. All in all, a very good hotel with staff that are very welcoming and friendly. Would definitely stay again.

Room Tip: The front of the hotel faces a main road which may be noisy for some. We have no issue on the third...

We booked our hotel though Secret Escapes, the whole package was great, the staff were amazing and were able to deal with our ever changing plans.

The hotel is new, very clean and modern. The rooms are perhaps on the small side, but are perfect for a place to sleep. The staff all speak perfect English, and the hotel is on the flybus route, so transfers to and from the airport is easy. The hotel has a lovely view of mountains, and is about a 15 min walk into town.

It has a bar, and it provides a continental breakfast in the mornings, which is very nice.

There is a lovely pizza restaurant next door.

My only qualm would be is that there were no tea and coffee making facilities in the room.

Room Tip: Make sure you get a room with a view!!.
