My wife and I stayed here for several days and it was great. The hotel is in an excellent location and close to everything in downtown Reykjavik. Our room was very cool - it had a nice bathroom, kitchen area, sofa, Tivoli radio, and an Nespresso coffee maker. The breakfast was included and very good. The staff was excellent and they helped us arrange Northern Lights tours. I would stay here again for sure.

Dear Oliver

Thank you for your extremely positive review. I sure hope you managed to see the northern lights. They can hide a bit away from the humans.

We're happy that you loved the room and the staff and the location. We do too!

Greetings,
Kvosin Team

Me and my wife wanted to have a romantic weekend in the capital and we opted for Kvosin Downtown Hotel because we wanted to be central in the down town area and within walking distance from restaurants, the theatre and the night life :)
The accomodation was first class and very modern & trendy. The approach to our room was very comfortable and private so we could go to our room in the middle of the night after a good night out without any inconvenience for anyone else.
The location of the hotel is simply brilliant, you are approximately 2-3 minutes from a convenience store to have some refreshments in your room. You are about 3 to 5 minutes from several restaurants and pubs but far enough away so that you are not bothered by sounds of the nightlife.
Over all we were very pleased with our stay here and we plan to do it again soon :)

Dear Þorgeir!

Thank you so much for your lovely review. It's essential to have night out on town from time to time and we're glad you chose us as your home (not so far) away from home.

We stayed at the Kvosin downtown hotel for 6 nights in early November and couldn't have had a better stay. The staff was super friendly and very helpful. The location also couldn't have been much better, walking distance to all of the shops, bars, and restaurants that downtown Reykjavik has to offer. It's a huge plus to have the wine bar on the ground floor and Bergson Mathus (for breakfast) just around the corner. We stayed on the third floor, towards the back of the hotel so noise was never an issue and there is a really nice large terrace on that floor that I imagine is great to sit out on when the weather is a little warmer. We were offered a cell phone to use for the week at reception when we checked in and were glad we took it, as we ended up using it to change some of our other plans and reservations. Bottom line, we loved this hotel and would stay here again and again. Breakfast was delicious, and we were able to swap out the normal breakfast plate for a croissant on occasion for variety.

Thank you so much for your great feedback! I am so happy that the cell phone proved useful during your stay, these roaming charges can end up costing an arm and a leg! And, yes, the terrace sure is nice during summer! Guess you’ll just have to come visit us again to enjoy it!

Best wishes,

Chose this hotel because it looked fab on the website and it did not disappoint in reality. The location is perfect in downtown Reykjavik, easy walking distance to many attractions, restaurants and shops. We were also lucky enough to enjoy live music as part of the Airwaves festival while we were here. Rooms of an excellent standard, clean, bright and modern. Aveda products in the shower too!! Breakfast was included in the price and served at a small cafe round the corner and we set our alarm so as not to miss it! All in all a perfect base for our first trip to Iceland and we hope to return!!

We stayed for 4 nights at the beginning of November in room 303. Classed on the website as their 'Tiny' room we found it the perfect size for the two of us. At the front of the hotel it has two large windows looking out onto a small balcony and the church opposite. Design and furnishings were great- very modern but still homely, bed was super comfortable- probably the best hotel bed ever! Staff were friendly and helpful and the breakfast in the cafe around the corner was delicious. Some previous reviews have said the breakfast was repetitive but we were offered pretty much anything we liked, from the standard 'breakfast plate' to croissants to porridge and all were excellent. Brilliant location too in the centre of Reykjavik, within walking distance from everywhere.
My only slight niggle (and it is very slight) was that as a tea drinker I would have preferred a standard kettle rather than the fancy Nespresso machine as it wasn't possible to get the water quite hot enough for tea through this. Also there was no milk provided although I'm sure if we'd asked it would have been.

Room Tip: The 'Tiny' room 303 is very cute and good value!

Thank you for the feedback after your stay. Although “Tiny” is tiny by comparison to the other rooms in our hotel it’s still 17 m2. And yes, I very much agree about the beds. They are super comfy, right? I’m thankful about your comments on the tea-water issue. You see, running a hotel takes immense energy, so we all tend to be more on the coffee side of life. Anyway, I’ll look into it, and take appropriate action, not to disappoint our future tea aficionados.

Greetings,

We had two seperate reservations at Kvosin hotel late October 2013. We arrived late in the evening and on arrival we immedietely felt welcome and almost at home. The hotel is new and fresh and has a nice little boutique in the reception are. The evening receptionist (Italian man I think) went out of his way with his great service, helpfulness and positive attitude.

Our first night we had a large family apartment. The interior is stylish and clean. All aminities in the hotel are well thought out and beautifully presented. The beds and duvets are great and comfy! The apartment had a kitchenette, 2 bedrooms, living room and a nice tv area with a sofa. There were 2 balconies on both sides with great views.

The second room we had (2 days later) was a large room also with a kitchenette and a sitting area and same good amenities. The door to the room was facing the back side of the hotel and had to be accessed via the back side balcony which the nice young lady in the reception explained to us at check in (could otherwise be a bit confusing to find).

I have been in many Reykjavik hotels but this gem is definitely one of the best hotels in the city and we will absolutely stay there again .. and again.

Over all the hotel and service is great and has great attention to detail. The only negative thing that I can think of as far as our stay at the Kvosin hotel is that we had to go back home.
