“Decent but too expensive even for Reykjavik”
Reviewed February 21, 2014

Two wraps and two smoothies £20? Sorry but can't agree with that. As nice as it all was that is very expensive even for Reykjavik!

“Priced out of class”
Reviewed February 11, 2014

Owners of diners and fast food joints in Iceland think that they can at lunch charge prices similar to quality restaurants with professional staff. Durum on Laugavegur, the main shopping street of Reykjavik, is typical of those.

Fish of the day costs €11, about the same as widely acclaimed Fridrik V on the same street. The fish had been kept frozen and was heavily panfried. The onion was fried to the point of losing its consistence. An unidentifiable grey sauce covered the fish.

This did not taste bad, but tasted very little. Acceptable for allaying hunger, but priced out of its class. Even the espresso had little taste. Tourists flock there, but avoid same prices at quality restaurants.

Decor is nonexistant. Service was friendly.

“Durum Reaurant - Reyjkavik”

Lovely little place to grab a coffee or have some nice food. Can particlarly recommend the chicken kebabs and the breakfast. Friendly staff and a warm atmosphere from quite a small place. Pictures on the wall for sale too!

“Great for Breakfast”
Reviewed January 6, 2014

We ate breakfast here on our first morning in Reykjavik, Slightly pricey but you get what you pay for. They also do freshly squeezed fruit juices!

“For a coffee, it was a great place”
Reviewed December 29, 2013

It's wacky interior was great! I like art, so I enjoyed the coffee I had in one morning. Staff did not seem to be too bothered with us taking photoessays inside. Nice place.
