“Good, clean and friendly!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 25, 2013

Our room was beautiful, clean and had everything we needed. The staff could not have been more willing and helpful! Breakfast was plentiful, fresh and ample selection.

The location is ideally situated within easy walking distance of both the main town and the bus station.

I will definitely stay here again if I'm ever lucky enough to be in Reykjavik!

And on a personal note thank you to the staff for posting my glasses back to me, much appreciated!

A bit off the beaten track. But an excellent hotel as nearly everything was in white proving that dirt has no where to hide. I didn't see any. Breakfast buffet was good with a selection of cold meats, breads, cheese, cereal and croissants. Plus tea, juice and coffee.

Oh loved the free fast wifi service too. Nice receptionists too.

Even though the name is "Hotel Floki", it is a hostel. It is one of the cheapest place to stay in Reykjavik. With that in mind, we felt it was a good place to stay and good value (Icelandic style) for money. We stayed in a double room in the basement of the main building for a week while we explored Reykjavik and took day trips. We appreciated the sink in the room, and found that the bathroom was clean and more than adequate. There was plenty to eat at breakfast - a European breakfast style buffet with a "yummy" (my favourite was the chocolate filled crescent rolls). We walked downtown (10 minutes) and to the old harbour (20 minutes) easily. We parked our rental car in free street parking. Hotel staff were helpful but not enthusiastic.

Its not a typical hotel, more like a guest house. We stayed there for 4 days without any discomfort. The hotel is located close to the church but the city center is slightly far. However, there are shuttle buses which can easily pick you up from this hotel and that is how we traveled in Iceland. We got a room which was in another building, a 1 minute walk from the mail building. The room was large and clean with a small desk for working. We had a kitchen which had all the necessary pots and pans and basic spices, like salt, pepper and chilli. The bathrooms were clean and we faced absolutely no problem. The staff was extremely helpful and helped us with our tour bookings. The hotel reception is also equipped with all the brochures & discount vouchers to help you find your best deal.

This is not a hotel, it's a hostel or guesshouse. No cover sheets, no blankets, cold room, noisy useless refrigerator right near my head. Dirty bathroom for more than 12 hours. Awful breakfast. No living room. Old furniture, old plugging sets together with new ones. Terrible lockers for the doors, so that everyone entering or exiting the room had to make a lot of noise. Separated building from reception, so that you have to walk a while to get from a building to the other. There are many other hostels much better than this in Reykiawyk. Good that I only booked for one night!!!!!

Room Tip: Go to B47 which is nearby and much much better hostel.
