My husband and I started our honeymoon at Room With a View, and it was a wonderful start to our trip. The location is hard to beat - right in the middle of the downtown shopping area, close to bars and restaurants, and a short walk either left or right from the front door covers most of the points of interest in Reykjavik.
We stayed in a sea view room - apartment 401. The view was quite amazing - especially at sunrise. The furnishings were modern and very nice. We had a very comfy bed with clean linens, a large sofa, a TV and DVD player, a kitchen table and a fully equipped kitchen area. We had a decent sized bathroom with a large jacuzzi bathtub/shower. The bathroom, and apartment as a whole, were very clean.
I do have to agree with others' complaints about the noise. We stayed at Room With a View from Tuesday to Friday, and we had big issues with noise, so it's not just the weekend nights when it's bad. I sleep pretty much like a rock, so if noise wakes me, it has to be bad. I was woken every night, and my poor husband barely slept. Every night around 2am it started - screaming and yelling - and continued through 4-5am. We definitely wished we had a pair of earplugs, but settled for putting the pillows over our heads and trying our best...My husband and I started our honeymoon at Room With a View, and it was a wonderful start to our trip. The reception staff were very friendly offering advice on places to eat, booking the Fly Bus for our trip to the airport, making arrangements for our rental car pickup, minding our luggage which had been lost and was delivered while we were away, etc.
Overall, the convenience and cleanliness of the hotel, along with the friendliness of the staff were perfect. However, I'm not too sure whether we'd stay again given the noise issues.More
