Thanks for a wonderful stay. We stayed for 3 nights in February. Great staff, breakfast and rooms. More than we expected. When we left for a flight at 4am the receptionist opened the breakfast buffet early for us.

My wife and I stayed here for 3 nights in early February 2014. On arrival we were asked if we wanted an upgrade to an ocean view room for only £14 a night (much cheaper than direct booking on line). What a good decision. The view of the bay and the snow covered mountains across the water from our spacious room on the 4th floor (Room 410) was superb through the two large windows. Facilities in the room were very good and the room was well maintained throughout with clean towels every day. Soap and shampoo is in squeezy containers affixed to the wall. The shower is adequate with lots of slightly smelly hot water. Beautifully cold drinking water is available from the cold tap! Breakfast, which is served from 7am is very good with options ranging from herring and tuna through breads and cakes, cheeses and hams, omelette and sausages to croissants, cereals and self made waffles! Staff are on hand to replenish food regularly. The location of the hotel, 100 metres from the ocean front and 100 metres to the main shopping street is ideal - we were so pleased that we had chosen this location. Walks to the old harbour and the main city attractions took about 20 minutes. The only down point to the hotel was a very small and slightly dowdy looking 24 hour reception area and a lack of public space but this is nitpicking! The hotel does provide a soup and bread meal option in the bar in the evening but nothing more substantial but there is no shortage of eating options around the immediate area and there is a small supermarket behind the hotel. A really great choice for a comfortable and well located break.
Great hotel in a good location. Service very attentive, plentiful breakfast. Clean and very warm room.
We asked for a call if the northern lights happened outside the hotel, which they do if you are lucky. Sadly the receptionist said this was not available. A shame really as guests the next morning said that the show was quite amazing.
Stayed here last weekend. Rooms are small but wasn't an issue as were only in to sleep. It's just down from Main Street and is first drop off from all tours we were on and last pick up point so less time on bus. Reception staff helpful and good breakfast buffet. Rooms very warm make sure u turn down rad before goin to sleep or u'll cook!
Very satisfied indeed with this hotel! It's smallish (roomwise) and the lobby could be bigger but everything else is just super!
Located within 3 blocks from the city center (very convenient with a supermarket round back) and about 15 minute walk to the harbour, it is close to where you would like to be yet not so close you're in the thick of it.
The staff is always friendly and helpful. Wi-fi is free and available in your room.
Okay, the rooms might be somewhat small, but I don't spend that much time on my hotelroom anyway :-) Everything you need at night is there and the beds are comfortable. The only thing I didn't like so much is that the hotel is HOT. I left the window open all day, turned the heating down all the way and still had trouble sleeping at night.
I found a couple of holes in the bedding/ sheets which is always a bit shabby, but everything was so spotlessly clean and fresh, I didn't mind a bit.
Breakfast is great, lots of choices even if you are a vegetarian, like me.
Super-early breakfast upon request, in down-sized version, but still very good.
Would definately book this hotel again. And again :-)
This hotel ticks all the boxes. It is clean, with very good staff. Situated within easy walking distance of the the tourist sights of the city, and a minute from the promenade, yet quiet, even at the weekend.
Reception staff very experienced and always helpful.
Bedroom small, bed comfortable and ensuite worked well.
WiFi free and reliable.
The breakfast, a DIY affair, was excellent. Must mention the breads, herrings and waffles!
