“Good location, typical city hotel”
Reviewed November 9, 2012

Stayed one night at end of our five day tour. This was Halloween and the hotel emailed me before we left home to advise that they were providing a free Ghost Walk that night which we signed up for. This was excellent and our guide very knowledgable and fun. The hotel even extended the bars happy hour for when we all returned.
Our room on the 5th floor was pretty standard but did have tea/coffee making facilities and a very comfortable bed. We had an ocean view but weather did not really allow us to do justice to this. All staff very pleasant and everything functional. Very good breakfast buffet with large selection in a small room off the eating area but this is a large hotel so could get crowded...we had an early start so got in first.
Very good location close to main shopping street. Good value for what it was.

Room Tip: Ocean view rooms cost more but preferable to those facing into city. They do have attic rooms but th...

It's about 15 mins from the centre of Reykjavik and close enough to areas with shops and cafes etc. There is a supermarket just around the corner.
Nice room - small bathroom through.
Breakfast - very good.
Staff very good too.

The room was kind of small, but cozy for one person. VERY close to the downtown shops and sight seeing. The staff at this hotel are very pleasant. You will have to get use to the sulfur smell from the hot water. Its not harmful, just use cold water for tea and coffee. Each room has a kettle for hot water. There is a store similar to 7/11 (coincidentally the name of the store is 10/11) about 1-2 minutes walking away from the hotel for snacks and drinks. If I go back, this will most likey be the hotel I use.

Stayed in the hotel for 3 nights in Last week of August. The location of the hotel is very good and close to most of the attractions. The supermarket, main shopping street - Laugavegur and the BSI bus terminal are close-by and within walking distance. The rooms are clean and comfortable. Reception staff was really very helpful and went a long way in negotiating with a car-rental co. due to their delay in picking us up. The Saebraut monument is just a 5 min walk.
The breakfast spread is very good. Beds are comfortable and sleep quality is excellent as there is hardly any disturbance.

Stayed here for 2 nights 16th/17th October 32012. Arrived at 10am and checked in and was given a room immediately.
Breakfast the following day there was a huge choice to eat. Hotel located close to the main street of Reykjavik so we had plenty of choices for an evening meal. There is also a supermarket behind the hotel so it be needed.
Internat available in reception and the staff could not be more helpful.
I can thoroughly recommend.

Room Tip: Just ask for what you require.

What a bit of luck that Iceland air put us in this hotel. Our second floor room was great with views over the sea. We had a cooker, microwave, toaster ,fridge etc so we could have self catered if we had wanted to. Leather sofa and reclining armchair were very comfortable. The (young) staff were polite, efficient and helpful. The bar manager was a mine of information about Reykjavik and the two hour happy hour was useful! All enquiries were answered instantly. We were offered a breakfast at 4.30 am as we had an early flight but who could eat at that hour. On other days breakfast was a standard buffet with a large choice of meats, eggs, waffles, cereals, etc. certainly enough to set you up for the day. Goed position, short walk from downtown. A good place to be..

Room Tip: Front of hotel faces the sea
