We were upgraded from a historic room to a modern(ish) one with kitchen and sofa, as they'd overbooked. Bonus! as im told the historic ones were tiny plus we cooked meals here to save money.
The room was fairly basic but more than adequate, warm with a small balcony. Comfortable twin beds pushed together. Bathroom was large .All were clean. Staff friendly and helpful.
Breakfast was a cold buffet with plenty to eat, even if you are vegetarian it set us up for the days sightseeing.
7-11 around the corner but for cheaper food we went to the budget suoermarket on the main street ( 5-7mins walk away. I can also recommend the warm friendly gay bar/cafe on the main street and the vegetarian restaurant which did a healthy reasonably priced dinner, canteen style.
All our tours collect us from here and we overlooked the water. although we were rarely brave enough to face the cold winds down there in february.
Tip: dont waste too much time in the blue lagoon- nice experience but not worth more than a few hours-do it on your way to/from the airportMore
