“the BEST!!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 3, 2014

At the last minute (one week's notice!), my new husband and I changed the venue of our wedding reception dinner to Snaps, based on a recommendation. Not only were the team wonderful in the lead up, helping us to plan a menu that best worked for us and accommodating our group with such short notice, the service was truly magnificant when we were there. But there is no doubt the highlight was the food. Every bite of our four-course fare was a joyous delight and our whole experience at Snaps helped make our special day even that bit better.

Some of our group even returned later in our stay for a lunch and while they only had a menu meal on this occasion, all of them still felt it was exceptional.

“Outstanding”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 2, 2014

Had New Years Eve dinner here. Over the top! Attentive service. Friendly, cordial atmosphere. Delicious food - had the wine tasting menu and they left nothing out. The restaurant is attached to a hotel and set up in a low key, cozy manner with a central bar. One of our best meals ever! Pricey. Deal with it.....it's worth it!

Very relaxed, friendly atmosphere. Simple menu but very tasty. Nice vibe to the place. Moderately priced.

“Nice Bistro”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed December 5, 2013

My BF and I came across Snaps based on TripAdvisor reviews. We were already in the downtown area and I took advantage of some free WiFi to look up TripAdvisor recommendations. Snaps was just down the street so we decided to give it a try. Snaps had a Christmas buffet going on - which was quite extensive and we weren't that hungry. My BF ordered the french onion soup, with the biggest cheese covered crouton I have ever seen, and we both had the club sandwich which came with a mound of french fries. Dinner was a little expensive, a trend in Reykjavik, but tasty and plenty of food to speak of. We were a little early for the "bar crowd" but it looked like the bartender was getting ready by (partially) opening plenty of wine bottles. I would say Snaps is worth a stop if you are in downtown Reykjavik.

“lovely and fun spot!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed December 3, 2013

We had an excellent meal at Snaps, which manages to combine a French brasserie feel and recipes with traditional Icelandic ingredients for a truly delicious meal. I enjoyed the duck immensely and my husband had the steak frite (with lamb) that was also really excellent. We were seated in probably the worst seat in the house - right by the kitchen in the back - yet still had an excellent time. It's a fun, convivial atmosphere that makes you want to stay for another drink. We also enjoyed some Icelandic schnapps that were...interesting. I will definitely come back the next time I'm in Reykjavik - hopefully soon!
