“Trendy hotel in solid location”
Reviewed February 3, 2014

My girlfriend and I had a great stay at this hotel…it's in a cool location by the waterfront, within walking distance of plenty of bars, restaurants, and sights. The staff is friendly and helpful, and the ambience of the rooms and the hotel itself is trendy yet cozy. Great bar downstairs as well, and the lobby has interesting decor as well.

Invested in an upgrade to larger room overlooking the shipyard. Not really a marina but I enjoyed watching work on large trawlers. Room was fine but a lack of storage space. Others have commented on opaque walls to bathroom and this definitely is a doubtful feature.
Staff all excellent and food and drink all very good. Not cheap, but nowhere in Rekyjavik is!

Room Tip: Floor three has nice rooms at back, but are classed as superior rooms at a supplement.

I stayed here for a work trip and this really is a lovely place to stay.

The rooms are perfect! Not too big, and signs up everywhere reminding you not to spend too much time in your room, especially the bathroom which is extremely tight but for good reason.

Dinner was amazing in the hotel as was breakfast. It is also a haunt for locals and tourists alike because the food is so good and they make amazing cocktails. It gets quite busy so book ahead if you want a table in a good area for dinner.

Spotted a celeb too!

Room Tip: Some rooms have a balcony you can look out on to the street on, try getting one of these. Rooms at t...

This hotel is located on the marina (boatyard) only a few minutes walk from the town centre. It is clean and warm. The beds are exceptionally comfortable and we had a brilliant nights sleep. The bathroom was located in the bedroom and was divided by opaque glass partitions. My wife was not at all comfortable with this as you can clearly see anyone in the bathroom from the bedroom. The hotel restaurant is ok but very busy. It is popular with the locals. Food was ok. I would recommend this hotel but expect minimalist rather than luxury.

Great location near harbor. I was able to change my room to a small single overlooking the harbor. (Very small room with a balcony, but I didn't mind.)

The location is great as it is only a few minutes walk to the city center or to the Harta. The staff was friendly and helpful. The room was clean and tidy.

Quirky lobby furniture. Free internet access either by wi-fi or on a computer in the lobby.

Room Tip: Ask for a high room overlooking harbor.

Rooms are recently done over. Breakfasts are European style and very good staff is friendly and very helpful. Tour bus picks up at the door. On one end of town but only half mile walk to most downtown attractions. Several good restaurants very close. We would come again

We arrived into Reykjavik a night early and decided to walk into this hotel to check availability. I was sold the moment we walked in the door, the design is really funky and the gentleman at reception (I did ask his name but wouldn't even try to spell it!) was just a pleasure to deal with and was able to answer all the questions we had about the area, trips, where to eat etc.

The room overlooked the harbour and was beautifully designed. I was very sorry that we were only staying for one night.

The breakfast the next morning was the best breakfast I've ever had in any hotel in the world. Such a wonderful selection of cold and hot dishes, every last detail is catered for.

If I ever return to Iceland I will be staying in this hotel.

Room Tip: Ask for a room on the 3rd or 4th floor facing the harbour.
