Definitely make time to visit Perlan. If you have children, they will love it, too. There are a number of hands on exhibits, and the shows are very informative. Don’t miss the ice cave. The view from the upper deck is wonderful.

Hello Diane,
Thank you for taking the time to share your experience with us.
Our exhibits are - both fun and educational. We are proud to work with well-known museum designers, artists, and musicians to create memorable experiences for guests of all ages.
Did you know to build the Ice Cave, we used around 400 tons of snow and ice that we brought in from the nearest mountain range?
Kind regards,
Eva
Was definitely a great way to view the Northern Lights since you can’t see them during the summer. There is also a really cool Ice Cave (make sure you have a coat) and a 360 view of Reykjavik. You can take bus or if limited money, there is a way to walk to the museum, but beware there is a lot of walking involved.
Dear Audrie,
Thank you for sharing your day with us. Glad you enjoyed your visit.
Our nature exhibits bring the wonders of Iceland alive for anyone to experience and learn about. Yes, it is a pleasant walk to Perlan. The building sits on top of the highest hill in Reykavík, surrounded by trees. It is the most popular outdoor area for the locals in Reykjavik.
Kind regards,
Eva
A modern and pleasant museum. A good opportunity to start or spend an expensive day in Iceland. A good opportunity to visit on rainy days but not only.
Dear Ben,
Thank you for sharing your lovely experience.
Yes, even if the weather is unpleasant, you can find exciting activities here at Perlan for explorers of all ages. A walk through an Ice Cave, a magical northern lights film in our Planetarium, and stunning views of a 10 meters high bird cliff is something everyone can enjoy. I hope you had a great time in Iceland.
All the best,
Eva
Great museum, very interesting and educational. The experiences were fun. Lovely cafe serving coffee and restaurant serving good food. Thoroughly enjoyable day, well worth visiting
Dear Alison,
Thank you for sharing your lovely review.
I am happy to read you enjoyed our museum to the fullest and spent your time exploring interactive exhibits, watching our Northern Lights and Lava shows, and learning about Icelandic nature. Glad you took your time and dropped by our Café and could enjoy a gorgeous view from the top floor.
I hope you had beautiful adventures in Iceland.
Best regards,
Eva
If you can not visit all of Iceland, this is the place to go. They have everything that makes Iceland special: an artificial ice tunnel made of real ice, a planetarium show of northern lights, a lava show, a replice of a bird cliff etc etc. Lots of nice information. Busy but roomy so that is not a problem. Great restaurant with super view all around. The museum is open until the late evening, but remember that the restaurant closes at 17:00: a missed opportunity, for I would have loved to dine there.
Dear R.K,
Thank you for sharing your day with us.
Our museum is a beautiful place to explore Icelandic wonders and learn why these natural wonders came to exist before or after heading out for adventures outside the city. I am glad to hear you took your time exploring the museum and had a blast visiting us.
All the best,
Eva
The Perlan Museum provides an in-depth view of Iceland's history, geography, and ecology. I thoroughly enjoyed all the displays, movies, and the ice tunnel! If you have a car, it's easy to get to. I took a bus (#18) and got off at Perlan, but you have to look for the trail up to the museum. After (or during) your visit, go up to the top two floors for ice cream or a meal...even some fries! Like most places in Iceland, it's pricey -- $37 for fish and chips!
Dear Debra,
Thank you for sharing your wonderful day with us. I am happy to hear you loved our museum.
Iceland is full of wonders we strive to explain in our interactive exhibitions so our guests can experience, feel and learn. Did you notice the scent in the Lava Show? The smell gives you a more profound experience of what it feels like to be next to an eruption site.
Glad you took the time to enjoy the view from the top floor and delicious meal.
All the best,
Eva
