The Einar Jonsson Museum is very close to Hallgrimskirkja. We found Einar's work impressive and moving, marked throughout by its scale, mythic imagination, skilled execution, and emotional fervor. He occupies a territory that seems in a middle ground between religious and secular myth--in some ways like the Icelandic prose sagas themselves. This museum is much worth a visit.
