To make a picture of city , here the peak ... You should see the Reykjavik from the top and at 12.00 or 12.30 , you can listen classical music concerts at Hallgrimskirkja

Probably the most famous site in Reyjkavik city, this church leaves a lasting first impression.. One of the tallest structures in Iceland this architectural marvel is awe inspiring, and is visible from almost everywhere in the city.

Interior of the church are quite ordinary in comparison... and very different from any of the other European churches we have seen.

iconic exterior and equally amazing interior. Clean plain lines with a huge pipe organ above the door. The tower offers a great viewpoint for the surrounding aread (ticket required - 700 kr in June 2014.) Watch out for the bells striking every quarter hour.

Took a visit on a recent trip to Ryekjavik and we were impressed. Very imposing 20th century design. Interior is traditional christian church design with a rickety lift ride up eight floors to the bell tower. The bell tower gives great views over the city and surrounds and deafening when the bell are peeling as were on our visit. Definately worth a visit.

unlike most churches in Europe this church is simple pure example of northern architecture.
The staff is very helpful and we were invited to watch the service in Icelandic. It is an enjoyable walk from the centre of the town, all within 20 min walk.
