Except the shape of the church and the grant pipe organ, there is not much to see inside. However, the 75-meter-tall observation tower is the place to go - great view to see the whole city of Reykjavik! You won't regret. But, choose a less windy day, as up there the wind can blow your camera away.

The statue of Leif Ericson in front of the church is something you should know about.

There is no fee to visit the church, but it costs 700.- ISK to take the lift to the observation tower.

For normal days, the church opens from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm, unless there are special services or holidays. Check with the tourist information center or your hotel before heading it.

Great all round views of Reykjavik from the bell tower, although it costs around 5 Euro per adult to access this.

The inside of the cathedral is very spartan but worth seeing inside and out for its art deco era design. Hard to miss because it can be seen from almost everywhere in Reykjavik. A good landmark for walking tours too. Must have been a challenge to construct it in the 1920s and 30s given the wind and the weather in Iceland.

Very, very, very windy up here when we visited. Fantastic views and a lovely place to watch sunrise from. It wasnt too busy when we visited but there was a queue for the lift on the way down.

Very windy and cold but was worth it. 360 degree panoramic view across Reykjavik. Cost about £6.00. Elevator lift to the top.
