“Amazing Place, its a must to visit”
Reviewed November 8, 2013

another free attraction or place to worship/visit. its an amazing building that can be seen throughout Reykjavik, it stands on a high point in the centre so basically its easy to find. Once inside you can pay to go up onto the roof, and wow, what fantastic views are up there of the whole city and surrounding area.... fantastic, absolutely fantastic

“Reikjavík landmark”
Reviewed November 8, 2013

Very beautiful church with a bold design, it looks like the front of a viking ship but actually It was inspired by the impressive basalt columns in Iceland. The church was built on a hill so it can be seen from every corner of the city. You can go to the top of the tower and get close to the bell and there you have the most amazing views of the city. The interior is a modern and clean simple style with emphasis on the giant pipe. It must be wonderful to hear someone play it. In front of the church there is a statue of Leif Eriksson, who landed in North America in the year 1000, more than 500 years before Columbus! The surrounding area is also very charming with excellent shops and a few nice restaurants and cafes. I recommend Café Loki (just opposite the Church) if you want to try delicious homemade plates.

“Stunning cathedral”
Reviewed November 6, 2013

This cathedral was at the other end of the street we stayed in. it is well worth a visit. Built in 1929 its clean simple lines gave a calm serenity to it. The sound of the organ was beautiful. You can take a lift to the top of the tower and get amazing views across the city.

“A great place to see the city”
Reviewed November 5, 2013

Frigid and windy at the top of the spire, but a fantastic spot to look out over Reykjavík and take a few photos!
