You get a perfect view on the city on sunny days from top of the tower. The fee was ISK 700,- in June 2013. You might get the chance to listen to an organ performance at a reasonable price!

Make sure you go up the tower. You get the tickets from the small shop on the left as you entre the church. This church can be see from miles away and is lovely.

Loved the organ concert which filled the air. For a small fee, you can take the elevator to the bell tower for stunning views of the city all around you. Well worth the visit

This church looked magnificent. Unfortunately, we couldnt gain entry as it was our first day and we were early for check in. This meant we still had our wheely hand luggage with us so were not allowed in. Too busy afterwards with trips but it certainly looks as though it would be worth a visit if i return. The queue to get to the top was massive.

Tired of over-decorated churches with a riot of sculpture and stained glass and everything else on the Continent or elsewhere!
Longing for a dose of simple piety in faith and form? Like a good view that makes climbing (or ascending in a convenient elevator to the top here)? Then this is your spot. A minimalist dream in stone!

Also, check out cozy Cafe Loki nearby for tasty "Icelandic soul food".
