“Stunning Church”
Reviewed March 19, 2013

A stunning church. Very plain both inside and out but something special about it. Great view over the city from the viewing tower. Good photo opportunities. Well worth a visist.

“Worth seeing”
Reviewed March 19, 2013

It's pretty difficult to miss this church in Reykjavik as it sits on one of the highest points in the centre of the city. Definitely worth seeing if you are having a walk about the city.

“Beautiful architecture.”
Reviewed March 19, 2013

There was no need to take a guided tour we walked to the church ours selves. We loved the architecture and the simplicity of the interior. We took the lift up to the tower and the views across Reykjavik and the surrounding area were fantastic. We went back the next day, Sundayand the 11:00am service was under way. The music and hyms were so lovely to listen to we felt drawn in and so sat at the back with the congregation despite not understanding Icelandic. not.

“A must-see feature at the top of town.”
Reviewed March 18, 2013

This church is easily found, no more than 20-30 minutes walk to the town's highpoint. The structure and its surrounding plaza is strikingly different and the 360 degree views from the upper tower are well worth the modest fee. Tickets to use the elevator are available from the souvenir store just inside the front door. Views are through open portals in the structure (no glass) - dress appropriately for cold winds. Visitors can inspect and take photographs inside the church.

“Austere but interesting”
Reviewed March 18, 2013

A austere building which is nice in some ways. The elevator trip to the bell tower is worthwhile for a good view of the city and the pipe organ is quite impressive.
