“Beautiful Landmark”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed December 2, 2012

You can see this church from all over Reykjavik (almost), but when you're in town it pops up over rooftops wherever you walk. A magnificent statuesque piece of architecture, and well worth a visit to the bellower, (especially on the hour if you want to hear the bells up close!). Take your camera because it's an incredible view of Reykjavik from up there.

“It looks and Feels "Northern"”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 30, 2012

The church is magnificent from the inside and outside. The architecture is beautifully suited to the cold and sparse northern theme of being in Iceland. It is to Reykjavik what the opera house is to Sydney.

“Great views”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 30, 2012

Really enjoyed this - cheap and the views are spectacular. Do go into the church and look at the organ - over 5000 pipes and yes, you can take photos!

“Huge”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 30, 2012

Photo's of this place just don't capture how huge it is. It's really easy to find, and a good place to either start or finish a walk around the tourist area.

“pay the small fee to see a big view!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 30, 2012

Well worth the small fee to catch the lift to the 'clock' tower and look out from the windows at the bottom of the clock. You can then take a small staircase a little higher for an all-round view. The church is 'inner city' Reykjavik - an easy walk from the shopping streets - and it is so easy to find (hard to miss it!!) I also went to the Perlan last week - while the view from there was also awesome, the viewing deck was icy and VERY slippery - and fairly cold outside!.....so I enjoyed up the top of the church much better!
