We try to be sustainable in all ways, whether it is regarding our rafting operation, restaurant, equipment or anything else. Arctic Rafting was originally founded in the early 1980s when we started rafting on the Hvítá glacier river in South-Iceland. Since then we have welcomed and entertained thousands of happy customers and look forward to keeping on doing so. Now we are a part of the Arctic Adventures family wich gives us an advantage of being able to offer all kinds of great combo tours.

Best activity to do around Reykjavik, really good fun, would highly recommend! The guides are brilliant and the BBQ lamb for dinner was delicious!

Me and a friend went rafting in Hvítá and we had a great time! My friend had been rafting before but it was my first. The guide made us feel very safe. I'm definitely going again, next time I'm going to try the Beast of the East :)

Went on a rafting trip at the start of the season. The rafting trip was good and also our guide was very professional. The facilities at the base camp could have been better. The water of the showers was cold and the sauna was not working. But for the rest it was a nice experience.

We went Rafting with Arctic adentures in July. The river is very slow, no speed, no bumples. the guides try to make some fun of it by throwing tourists into the very cold water. In comparison to rafting in Italy and Austria, which we did before, this is not worth the money at all und furthermore, not worth to be called "rafting". if you want to get on an nice slow boat trip with some annoyed guides, go for it!

Hello KayNickel,

I am sorry to hear the trip didn't live up to your expectations. You most likely went on the Grade 2+ river in the south or the Grade 2-3 river in the West Glacial river. I recommend everyone that want an action packed rafting tour in Iceland do the renown East Glacial river in North Iceland which is considered the best white water rafting river in Europe being rated as a grade 4+ river.

All the best,

Great activity. Not as dangerous as it might seen from the start. We had a younger one (11) and an older child (21) and both enjoyed the trip. Somewhat chaotic organisation with a lot of peolpe that suddenly are to change and hit the busses. But once in the boats, it runs smoothly. The biggest waves are at the start of the river, smaller ones at the end. Would have been better the other way around, so that you gradually get use to it. Now, when you get the hang of it, the fun waves are gone...
