Description: Twined for 90 years. Our casa, Sólfell, was built in 1921 and has a rich history twined with Spain. Originally Sólfell housed the production of bacalao (salted cod/saltfiskur) and Spain was by far the biggest buyer. A newspaper article from 1921 tells how the Spanish renewed the contract between the two countries. The contract was literally a big deal because the magnitude was such that the Spanish bought all the exported bacalao that year. A new Spanish contract. We have reversed things. Before the bacalao started its journey from here to Spain but now we import from Spain everything that gives us the warmth and feel of the south. Of course the bacalao has a special place in our hearts as well as on our menu along with other delicacies, enough to give you what you need to put together your dream feast, there are thousands of possible combinations. There is a certain equilibrium in the fact that we have now offer a contract with whomever enters our establishment. In it we state our determination to offer the best of the Spanish tradition in this historical house with a unique fusion of our beloved home country. Enjoy.

I visited here in November with my husband. They were fully booked but managed to squeeze us in by the bar. The location is lovely opposite the harbour & the food was amazing. Such a good choice. The only thing we didn't enjoy was the mini burger which was like pâté. The rest was outstanding especially the spotted catfish! I would definitely recommend this place & if we revisit Iceland we will most certainly go back. The place has a lovely feel & nice n cosy! I would recommend booking though as we were lucky they squeezed us in! Staff were also very friendly!

Popped in on the first day we arrived in Reykjavik for a drink, and ended up stoping for food.

Tapas was great, and Sangria was on offer, and waiting staff were friendly, chatty and offered great service.

Called in again, on another night of our holiday, and were treated like regulars.

I highly recommend visiting, and especially trying the Puffin tapas.

We ate here one night since our hotel recommended this tapas restaurant over the other tapas restaurant in town square. After having dinner at Sushi Samba the night before, we weren't impressed, though we really liked the waiter. Most of the dishes weren't very hot when the arrived at the table. There was a monkfish dish with bacon that the waiter had recommended which was very good, and the meatballs were pretty good too. Neat view of the harbor though!

Typical Tapas restaurant, but location makes it better. Tried the Icelandic foods, but there was no puffin so had to settle for some extra fish. Skyr pizza as dessert was good too. A little pricy but still worth the visit.

Our concierge recommended Tapashusid and we loved it. We were curious about Icelandic cuisine, but did not want something super traditional, so fusion cuisine seemed a good choice. We asked the waiter to recommend items that incorporated typical Icelandic ingredients and so we had the puffin (with raspberry, mustard, celery root), lobster soup, lamb carpaccio (with apple, walnut, sour cream), smoked haddock (with blini, arctic char, dill), and pork belly (with date, bacon, BBQ sauce). To finish things off, we had the tasty brulee (cream, chocolate, caramel). Portions were perfect for sharing for two. Presentation was simple and attractive. Cocktails were potent. Service was attentive, friendly, and the staff were eye candy. Not a cheap meal (about $95 USD for two people with 1 drink each), but a good value, especially after the sticker shock of Norway. They were open late on a weekday during the off-season (we sat down at 10PM).
