I stayed here for three nights and the best thing about the hotel is its great central location right opposite the big church. Wherever you go in the city you can find your way back by just heading for the unmissable church tower! Room 306 has a picture postcard view of the church. Breakfast is a tasty, perfectly adequate buffet of cereal, breads, meats, cheese, fruit, and with make-your-own waffles as a cooked option. The room was small and quite basic, but perfectly fine when you are only really sleeping there. The staff on the desk were always very friendly. In all, I would say that this a great option if you value location over fancy facilities.

This hotel is in a great location for walking around the older part (and more interesting part ) of Reykjavik. No matter where you walk you can find your way back because it is directly across the street from the cathedral which I believe is the tallest building. The room was the smallest room I have ever stayed in but it was clean and comfortable. The staff were friendly, helpful and spoke some English. Breakfast is included with your stay. the downside is that if you are on the upper floors there is no elevator and you must carry your luggage up.

Room Tip: Try to get a room on the first floor if possible.

In a great location right across from the church. Makes getting back home easy. We had a double room which was by all accounts a single. The bathrooms are tiny. We joked that you could sit on the toilet, get a shower, and brush your teeth all at the same time. Breakfast was your standard European style, and it got fairly busy around 8am every morning.

Aside from the small room which I already knew about, the place is a solid stay

Mixed reviews on this hotel before going but we , a party of 4 were delighted. Yes rooms were small as were the showers but we were there to see the country not to stay all day in the room. The staff were extremely helpful and so kind. They booked our trips which were run like clockwork and we were picked up and dropped of at hotel. There was tea coffee etc on offer all day and night at no cost and breakfast was the usual cereal toast waffles meats cheeses juice and teas and coffees which were always kept replenished. The hotel was in a perfect position. Excellent

Room Tip: Ask at reception for room looking on to church . It is lit up at night

Clean place to sleep - Fine service - Beds ok - Great location close to city center were you find many restaurants, shops and transit options.
Wifi were a bit unstable and not the fastestest , but free. Breakfast simple and basic.

We stayed at the Leifur Eiriksson last week. No frills, but clean comfortable and everything worked. Wifi was free and fast (Skype worked perfectly for voice). Food was just breakfast, but there was no portion control. Tea and coffee are available from reception.

The best thing is the location: directly opposite the Hallgrimskirkja, and 3 minutes walk from Laugavegur, the main shopping/eating/nightlife street.
