A one-women show giving a very brief history of Iceland. Lots of energy and very informative. Our host was happy to answer questions afterwards and was very well informed, but balanced. Despite the dodgy British accents in the show :-) I would definitely recommend this to anyone visiting Iceland for the first time.

“The real history of an amazing island”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 7, 2012

We went to this show having read about it on TripAdvisor and we were pleasantly surprised. Go into The Dubliner, the show is above the pub.

The room upstairs is beautifully set out, with fur-lined wooden benches in a Viking-style hall with a longboat for a bar.

Our actor, Summi, was energetic, fun, knowledgable and had a beautiful singing voice. He took us through the entire history of his nation from it's discovery, through trips to the Americas up to World War 2 and the cod wars. This included a re-enactment of the US military using Iceland as a base by acting as a GI and hitting on my girlfriend!

I think the nicest part was at the conclusion, when he covered the financial crisis and the future then sat down and told us about himself and tips to enjoy our holidays. He recommended some restaurants and places to experience around Reykjavik.

It was a lovely experience and I would recommend you spend an hour-or-so visiting the show whilst you are in Iceland.

“Let's Talk Iceland”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 18, 2012

Let's Talk Iceland is a one-woman show put on upstairs at The Dubliner Pub in Reykjavik, Iceland. It was written, produced and staged by a lively young lady named Helga who expends about two weeks worth of energy in a single hour. There was occasional humor and not the slightest thing in bad taste.

This is NOT to be confused with a show of similar but not identical name which is of a totally different character.

Let's Talk Iceland traces the history of Iceland from centuries BC through independence in the 1940's and touches ever so briefly on the time between then and now. A huge span of history is covered very well in an amazingly short time and is punctuated by dramatic gestures and peppered with good humor.

Helga has an excellent singing voice - she later told us music was her university major - put to wonderful use in several very short traditional Icelandic songs. I heartily recommend Let's Talk Iceland for any age group.

The pub downstairs was a real touch of Ireland in Iceland though not exceptionally busy when we were there. The entrance to the performing space upstairs (hard to call it a theater) is just inside the front door of the pub so there need be no concern about bringing children.

When a friend of mine is going to Reykjavik, this is the show I will recommend for any age!
As mentioned above, it is funny, entertaining, interactive and last but not least informative. You will be smarter afterwards :-)
The raven is in rehab and I'm positive to return it very soon. Which raven? Go, find out.
