The rooms are tiny- suitcases have to be placed on the bed. The bathroom was full of moulds- especially in the shower- and a strong smell of urine. The plumeau cases had several holes in it. The front desk staff was incapable of providing me with an invoice, even though my credit card had already been debited, when booking over my travel ageny. The tables in the breakfast room were extremely dirty and nobody attempted to clear the used tableware.

stayed here for 2 nights, suitcases had to be opened on the beds, not enough floor space to open one at a time, breakfast was plentiful and enough variety and hundreds of boiled eggs!
quite a walk to the city center, bus is expensive. 280kr , glad it wasnt cold.
pleasant enough staff but would prefer to stay more central

After reading previous reviews i was wary of what the hotel would be like. What a surprise. We were allocated a room in the recently opened wing. It was a decent size, extremely clean and although the view was over the neighbouring coach park, very quiet. The hotel staff were helpful and the evening buffet, eat as much as you like soup, hot dish, salad, bread, fruit ,soft drink & tea/coffee, at only 1150 kroner certainly stretched the budget. Yes the hotel is a bit out of town but was easy to find in our hire car and close to the sports/swimming pool complex. Only about 15 minutes walk to main part of city. Overall we were very happy

We stayed there for three nights last week, and it was very nice and the food (breakfast buffet) was the cheapest thing to eat which was good as Iceland is very expensive ( and it was included in the B and B price too ).
The rooms were tiny, and as I am very tall, it did feel small but we were hardly in it except to sleep and the hotel, even though the rooms were on top of people, were surprisely quiet. all in all, was good value. Thank you to my friend for finding it!

We were allocated this place by Icelandair, having read the reviews beforehand i tried to change the booking even offering to pay extra but Icelandair did not want to know.

The rooms at the Cabin were obviously designed for the 'little people' who allegedly live in Iceland.
These are the smallest hotel rooms known to man, about the size of garden shed, ie 3 metres by 4 meters.

The walls are indeed created from tissue paper, and you can hear heavy breathing from your neighbour next door even if they are not breathing heavily.

Breakfast was ok, plenty of food in the buffet, although it was the same fayre every day, the highlight of which is cold hard boiled eggs and luncheon meat.

We appealed to reception to get a bigger room with walls, but they haven't got any.
We decided to book another place downtown and found a great
guest house called the White Swan, with a massive corner room with 4 windows, a settee, two armchairs, table and large bed. It was about 6 times as big as the Cabin, for just a bit more per night.
We walked to the Cabin Hotel every morning for the breakfast as the one at the White Swan was even more basic.

Apart from all this Iceland is a brilliant country with breathtaking scenery, a fantastic place to visit and explore. Gulfoss is stunning, the geysirs exciting and the Blue Lagoon brilliant.

I stayed for a week in Hotel Cabin in Reykjavik. The staff was polite
and helpful, the room had a great view of the bay, the breakfast buffet was ok and it had also a great offer for lunch buffet with 950kr. (i.e. 11euros) But the room was as tiny as described by others, although its main problem was that in the "closet" it was space for only 4 shirts and 2 sweaters! So the clothes had to be remained in the luggage, under the beds which had to be opened one at
a time because there was not enough space for both of them! It was funny, I had already read others' reviews and I knew it, what you get
is what you pay anyway... The hotel is located about 20min. walking from the centre of Reykjavik, so if it's cold it's difficult to walk the distance more than once a day. There is a bus stop outside but the ticket is too expensive. If it is to use the bus, it's better to book a hotel downtown. I'll probably do it next time, except if the price difference is big enough.

We stayed here for a weekend. When we arrived at the hotel it was around 2 am, the main door was locked and we were greeted by a drunk icelandic man, we checked in and were given no information just handed our key and were expected to know where to find our room. We had booked a tour which was cancelled, however, the hotel failed to let us know this and we were waiting for half an hour for the coach to turn up. It wasnt until we asked at reception that they informed us it was cancelled. We had also booked the flybus to pick us up to take us to the airport however after 20 minutes of waiting we asked at reception and the staff had failed to book the flybus for us even though they were aware that it takes a good hour to get to the airport from the hotel! We then had to wait for an extra hour for another bus to take us which we had to pay for. we were also woken up by the sound of load drilling at about 8.30 am!

All in all we would recommend paying a little bit extra and staying somewhere else with helpful staff!
