This hotel was very nice, clean, helpful and a great price! We stayed there for 7 days or so and it was a very good time. We drove all over Iceland, i mean ALL OVER Iceland from there and still it didn't seem to be far from anything!

We recently returned from a stay at the Natura Hotel and wish to confirm that all the positives raved about this hotel by other travelers are still valid. We do have some differences of experience regarding the following:
1. food in the restaurant is not bad and they try to be innovative with their cuisine
2. breakfast should not include powdered scrambled eggs; should be a no, no for any kitchen no matter how efficient it may be to serve them
3. the first room we had was tiny and had barely enough room for two adults to move around let alone with their suitcases
4. the Natura Hotel is literally “inside” the domestic airport; distance from centre of town is a bit far for a walk as you have to go around some wasteland bordering on the domestic airport; it is best accessed by using the complimentary bus pass and the bus stop is just outside the hotel. The bus will take you down to Laugavegur street where you can explore the centre of town just by walking along the street and up a side road to see the cathedral. Make sure you board the bus for the return trip to the hotel on the other side (corner from the WC kiosk) of the Bus Station: check the listing of bus on the pole and make sure it is No. 19. If you get back on the bus from where you got off, you will end up starting an entire trip across the city!
5. the domestic airport (about $5 taxi ride away) does not open for business until 8:30 am and line up is by flight no. only.

Room Tip: Rooms facing the front entrance are small.

Lovely hotel with fabulous food in the Satt restaurant. I recommend the house specials....local dishes with a modern, stylish twist. Breakfast substantial with a serious selection to suit all tastes. Rooms comfortable, spa pool relaxing, staff pleasant and helpful. Look beyond its surroundings, the local airport, and enjoy a truly nice hotel.

We stayed here for a week during our trip to Iceland. This was a nice comfortable base for us to return to at night. The Satt restaurant was a nice fall back if we were too tired, and all of our tours knew were to pick us up. The hotel also offered a free bus pass that we could use the whole week.

I wasn't a fan of the beds, which I found to be too soft and bouncy, but I didn't have any trouble sleeping (probably because I was too tired!).

Our room faced the local airport, but we never had any problems with sound. It was barely noticeable for us, although very light sleepers might be bothered by it. I actually liked to look out the window at the private jets, small planes, and helicopters.

Keep in mind that the hotel is a bit of a walk to the Reykjavik centre, maybe about 30 minutes. This isn't necessarily a bad thing and the bus service is very easy to use, but it would have been nice to be closer.

All-in-all, I would recommend this hotel, especially for the price, and we had no complaints.

Room Tip: We had no problems with our room which faced the airport, but if you are a very light sleeper, consi...

Stayed there for a weekend to meet my wife who was staying there for work. Staff was really accommodating and let our son and I stay for free in her room where they managed to squeeze in an extra bed for the kid. We got free breakfast too.

The room was clean, comfortable and very well equipped. The rooms are well insulated it, so there is no need to worry about the proximity of the airport even if you room is facing the runway.

The spa is really but has unfortunately minimal opening hours on Sunday.

All in all, a very nice experience. Would definitely stay there again.

This hotel was perfect for out 1st trip to Iceland.Rooms were very comfortable, restaurant & bar were handy to have on site. Pool was somewhat inconvenient due to hrs but once planned it was a nice addition. Staff were professional and accommodating. After reading other reviews of this hotel we didn't know what to expect. I would certainly return to this hotel. It is a 15 minute walk to the center of town but there are great walking trails or you get a free bus pass which allows you to go anywhere for free.

We stayed here on the last night of a Route 1 grand tour, before flying home. As other travellers have pointed out, the exterior does look a bit 1960s office block, but inside, the hotel has some good decor and modern touches.

Our room was clean, comfortable and well equipped. Much as we thought the proximity of the airport would affect out sleep, the rooms are well insulated, so no issue there.

Despite the hotel being quite busy, we decided to have an evening meal in the restaurant. We had traditional Iceland charcuterie, followed by Arctic Char. The menu states this is grilled, but when presented, it clearly had been poached, which was a problem for my wife. The young lady serving us listened to our comments, took the dish back to the kitchen and returned it grilled with minimal fuss.

*** N.B. Icelandair Hotels please take note that this point that you have an exceptional young lady working for you. I wish we had asked her name, but she's the pretty brunette that seems to be the number 2 in the restaurant, definitely working Saturday 30/3/13. Her manner and attitude are a credit to your hotel chain, and a shining example of excellent customer service ***

All in all, despite the slightly dated exterior, a good hotel.
