Four of us just returned from the Icelandair package from Denver. This included our staying at the Hotel Reykjavik Natura. Initially, we were talked into rooms at the back practically on the runway of the airport. As the planes started landing and takeoff, we quickly changed rooms to the front of the hotel where we had no noise problems. The hotel is clean and the rooms small but adequate but the hotel is very disorganized. We were told several conflicting pieces of information about where to catch the bus (there is no longer a shuttle), where to wait for our Blue Lagoon excursion, and how to obtain internet service. The tours included in the package were excellent but the glacier "walk" is really a glacier climb and very strenuous. One person in our group fell and broke their wrist. We hired a private tour guide for the Golden Circle Tour. His name is Mike and he owns f-stop Tours and we would highly recommend him. He was knowledgeable, friendly and willing to do whatever we asked of him. All in all, we thought the package was excellent in all it provided and well worth the cost. The three star rating simply reflects the disorganization at the hotel. The appear to be in a learning phase and definitely need more training.

Room Tip: Book a room at the front of the hotel.

We booked a package deal with Icelandair that included air, hotel, etc. After booking, I read some of the Tripadvisor reviews about the hotel and had some concerns. However, the hotel was much better than expected and we had a fantastic trip. Yes, the hotel sits right on the domestic airport; however, we didn't hear any sounds. The hotel has been recently renovated and was in very good condition. The front desk staff were very friendly and helpful, despite having to work through the 30 people who showed up at the same time. The room was on the smaller side; however, I've stayed in smaller rooms in 5 start resorts. The room was very clean and well laid out. There is a breakfast buffet for $17 dollars. It's a bit pricey, but lots of food options and the food was very good. We also had just oatmeal and coffee in the bar area for about $7. The hotel is on the outskirts of Reykjavik, but it's not a huge town. There is a paved bike path that takes you into town in about 15 minutes (we're in pretty good shape, but it's an easy walk). The Pearl is also a very short walk from the hotel. The views are good, but not spectacular. We rented a car from Atak, a local company that will pick you up at the hotel and drop you off. The owner was very helpful and friendly - I highly recommend the company. We drove to Geysir, Gullfoss and the Blue Lagoon. Road are well paved and clearly marked. Overall we had a great time in Iceland and I would recommend the trip and the hotel.

Room Tip: Let the hotel know in advance if you want a double bed (other than a twin). Ask for a room away fro...

This hotel is right outside of town but has a bus stop right across the street. The trip into town is approx. 8 minutes, comes every 30 minutes and beats the high cost of a taxi. You can probably walk to town in about 20 minutes. It is also right across the street from The Pearl. The rooms are small and the showers are smaller. Difficult for larger people to move around in them. The breakfast buffet was ok, but nothing special. Staff was friendly and very helpful. The 2 computers in the lobby were nice to check email and keep in touch with those at home. Others mentioned the airport noise but my room was facing the front of the hotel and I never heard any noise. It was nice to have a hot tub to relax in after a day of site seeing. Overall, it was a decent hotel.

Room Tip: Rooms facing the front of the hotel don't have the airport noise.

This hotel was very clean and the room was pretty large. We stayed in the "Poet Room." The bed was very comfy, too. The breakfast was really good. There were a couple of public computers in the lobby but it cost extra to have wifi in your room. The hotel looks very industrial from the outside but is reallly pretty on the inside. The thermal pool, hot tub and saunas were very soothing.

Booked our entire Iceland adventure through Iceland air, naturally booked at their hotels. Natura was a little far outside of Reykjavik - although we got free bus tickets, and one day did walk into town, but it was a bit of a hike. Hotel was VERY clean, beds were nice, rooms sparsely decorated but comfortable. Staff was very helpful, and pool/sauna/workout facilities were very nice.

Food was excellent! Breakfast buffet was included in our stay, and it included a wide variety of breads, eggs, porridge, skyr, fruits, meats and cheeses. We joined on Thursday night for the Icelandic bedtime stories - which was attended by about 35 or more adults! A very interesting way to learn more about Icelandic culture, was unique and very enjoyable (and relaxing).

Room Tip: We stayed the first night on the airport side, the last two nights on the parking lot side, but foun...

Breakfast buffet was excellent lots to choose from. The bread was amazing. Had delicious lamb for lunch with salads before taking an afternoon tour. Nice spa and people. Small rooms but clean and efficient design. Had to take a cab to downtown.

Thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Reykjavik Natura. The hotel was comfortable and the staff were very helpful. Loved the beautifully-lit swimming pool and sauna suite. And the restaurant (including huge buffet breakfast) was genuinely fantastic (limited menu, but tremendously tasty fish and cheeses). Biggest problem was the fact that it takes two busses to reach town. We ended up choosing to walk (35 minutes, round the city bypass) through the inevitable driving rain. Another issue is noise from the (admittedly small) domestic airport less than 200 yards from the back of the hotel (First flight of the day: The 7.30am to Greenland). The biggest problem with Iceland is, of course, the cost of, well...  pretty much everything. Government exchange controls mean that prices are hilariously high. A pint of beer is a minimum of £5; a bottle of wine £22; an ice cream will be £4; a pair of shoes £250; a tea pot £36 and a pottery egg cup is £16! But it's a great place (especially for geysers, waterfalls, hot springs and glaciers) and Hotel Natura is a decent base for a visit.

Room Tip: Don't take a room on the side of the hotel which fronts onto the airport!
