We enjoyed our stay immensely, it was comfortable and clean, and we felt a good location. However, Satt restaurant not so good. Quality okay, quantity poor, cost very high. Special 5 course new year eve dinner 60gbp each. Took 2.5 hours! Still hungry at the end!

When we booked for x.mas and new year for 2011 , the swimming pool was the main reason we choosed that hotel because we have a inifinat with us. Hotel location is quite nice if you thibk on noice. That the hotel close the local airport wasnt a problem at all. But the shutlle bus should gå more often. Terrible and almost unusefull shuttle bus times for families with children. We could ever manage to take it. We had to take taxi or wait for the bus t the topp one could bearly see beacuse of snow.... and it was night mare for us to get food.. the foos ar SATT were delicious but we could eat there everynight.. this was the one of the biggest problem for us, becuse we hade a baby with us and thts why we had to eat at hotel room.. the hotel should realy to something about it...... and the normsl rooms are too small, we hade to buy bigger room, ..we were lucky we got the suitroom for cheeper price so ths was very kind of them.... the spa is lovely but its is terrible that they decided hour for children which is imposible for us. The worker at spa refused me to go to staying area one day because she said that they had paid customers and they coulnd accept hotel guest... we talket to reseptionist abiut that she was quit angree with them and offered us taxi and acsess to public pool... long story shory we were quit satisfied with stuff but it was awful what the girl from spa{ she had tattoo on her right feed)..... but if hitel does something with shuttle bus time and food so it will be a perfect place for families wot children anyway....

We booked this hotel through a deal we found online. Overall, the hotel was comfortable, reasonably priced, and what we needed for our long weekend in Iceland. The room was small, but fairly sized for a European hotel. The bathroom was fine, and we had access to wi-fi. While we were there, the hotel was still undergoing renovations, but we did not hear any work-realted noise. We traveled to Iceland at the beginning of summer, which meant infinite daylight. The curtains in the room did manage to keep out the light when we went to sleep. We did not use the pool or steam room at the hotel, as they were closed when we were there. We ventured to downtown Reykjavík for all of our meals and to see some sites, sometimes walking and sometimes taking the free hotel shuttle. We would have preferred to take the shuttle more frequently, but it did not run very often. However, the airport transfers did run smoothly. All in all, we found this hotel to be a good value and would recoomend it to other travelers looking for a good deal and who don't mind walking.

Note: this hotel is now called the 'Natura". Although located at the local airport, we did not notice airline noise. Iceland is heated with geothermal. We were not able to escape the heated rooms. Luckily, it was August so we slept with the windows open. Service in the restaurant was slow, but that was normal for all restaurants we visited. There is a nice pool in the lower level. Staff was very helpful.

Room Tip: Back rooms face the airport.

Although the room was on the smll side, it was nicely appointed with hardwood floors, comfie twin beds with a duvet. The bathroom is a bit small; if you're tall your knees might hit the wall while sitting on the toilet! The highlight of the hotel, particularly in winter is the access guests have to the spa pools, steam room and sauna. It's the perfect antidote after a cold day of touring! Breakfast is also quite good (Mine was included in the room price.) and story time on Thursday night should not be missed.

Room Tip: Ask for one of the rooms with Icelandic artwork

After reading other reviews I wasn't sure what to expect. It was included in our IcelandAir package. First, the entire hotel was clean. Rooms were a little small, and had no dresser and a smaller closet than you find on cruise ships! Minor repairs were needed. Beds were comfortable, room temperature control good, and free Wi-Fi is available in the room. TV.... forget it. No clock or radio. Desk staff was very pleasant and always helpful. Tour shop was not so friendly. I disliked not having a hotel booklet outlining services and times of opration..... was told on TV, but information was not complete on the TV. Didn't use spa or pool because we never seemed to be there when it was open (other people mentioned not knowing when to go also). I liked the story hour, but it was not publicized well and less than 10 people attended (mostly from other hotels!). The reader was very good, and it was sad no one came to hear "The Good Shepherd". Walkways from the street to the hotel were not kept clear of ice and snow. I found the hotel shuttle to town very convenient. We took the 11:45 to town and came back on the 6:00. The shuttle to the mall is very inconvenient though, and you are stranded there. Be sure to walk to the Perlan-- it is not as hard as it looks.... and the cafe is very good with affordable prices. I would stay here again, but would also look at other hotels first and compare them on Trip Advisor. It was not an unpleasant stay, just not a 4-star hotel.

It had everything you would want - breakfast, a pool, a spa, clean rooms, and not too far from town. We never walked as we were there in November but took the free shuttle a few times (it could run more) and cabs were not too pricey when split with a few people. A great deal through Icelandair!
