A seven day tour of one of the most beautiful places I have ever been. From the drive from the airport I could tell this was going to be something spectacular! Snow covered mountains, waterfalls, moss covered lava fields, volcanoes, black sand beaches, geo-thermal vents and pools, geysers, ice bergs, glaciers, whale watching, horseback riding...Iceland has it all. The tour director was very informative and shared with us some of the Icelandic sagas. Reading a book by an Icelandic author, referring to the country as "Niceland" which is absolutely true! The people are the most friendly and very helpful. Be sure to bring your camera for some photos of breathtaking and awe inspiring panoramic views. Weather was lovely...not too hot or cold, some rain and wind (bring rain gear and hiking shoes). The Icelandic horses are amazing and seeing some Arctic foxes up close was a huge thrill. I would suggest and recommend a tour to anyone visiting Iceland so you don't miss anything it has to offer.

Thank you so much for your beautiful review! We are so glad to hear how much you enjoyed Iceland and our Iceland Complete tour. It has been one of our most popular tours for about 15 years now. Iceland really is one of a kind.

Thank you again for your kind words and have a wonderful day!

Across the Wilderness tour is one of the best tours we (my wife and I) have ever made. We saw many popular highlights of Iceland but travelled and walked almost every day off the beaten tracks, too. The pace of the tour was not too fast – we had time to stop on route and enjoy. Absolutely we want to thank our driver-guide Ari Arnorsson, too. He is the best guide we have ever met, a very friendly, helpful and patient viking. Across the Wilderness tour is suitable for everyone; on our tour the oldest participants were 80 years old, the youngest were teenagers.

After this general positive evaluation we want to present some remarks about the itinerary of Across the Wilderness tour. First, is it necessary to make the Golden Circle on this tour? It is included to many other tours, and hardly is the main interest of the tourists who choose Across the Wilderness tour. Second, the itinerary does not allow enough time to explore the surroundings of Myvatn. We had to pass for example Dimmuborgir, pseudocraters and Nature baths of Myvatn.

Third - and this is our most important point - is it possible to add a day trip to Askja caldera to the itinerary of Across the Wilderness tour? We know it is a long and strenuous trip, but if the name of the tour is Across the Wilderness, Askja should be included. We remember Ari’s words when we traveled along the Sprengisandur: you have not seen Iceland if you have not seen Askja.

Thank you for taking the time to give us this good feedback.
We are very happy to hear how satisfied you are with the tour, and we truly appreciate the itinerary remarks as well.
When travelling around the country the time can simply "fly away". This makes it very important to have a clear itinerary, and choose the sights carefully. I will certainly take these notes further and notify my good colleagues in charge of the itineraries. They appreciate to get such comments from our travelers, as their goal is to make the tours as great as possible for our visitors.

Thank you again for sending us your reviews, and have a lovely day!

This is a great trip to go round Iceland and capture the beauty and range of landscapes on offer. We had winds, rain, snow and sun to go with Whale watching and the northern lights all in 9 days. Along the way we were dazzled with breathtaking landscapes of volcanoes, mountains, glaciers and waterfalls. This is a great trip to get an overview of Iceland or more detailed trips can be taken of each area. I will definitely be going back sometime in the future and probably go back a few times more.

We are glad you enjoyed your trip. It is true, that Iceland has a wide variety of landscapes, and therefore it is perhaps fitting to experience it in Iceland's ever changing weather!
We hope we will have you here in Iceland again!

We came by ship to Reykjavik and spent the goodly part of two days. First, we took a shuttle into the main part of town from the Port (some folks walked, about 2 miles). But we did our walking after we got off the shuttle. We had rain a good part of the first day, so frequently took shelter, the temperature was about 45F, but we were dressed for it. The second day we took a tour by coach and saw steam vents, residential, businesses, the university, music hall, varied attractions (house of the history Reykjavik meeting of Reagan and Gorby). There are certainly more museums per sq mile or per capita than any place else in the world, They had National Museums, for History, Art, Manuscripts and even the National Phallic Collection.

The recent update by the IPCC which blame the population for climate change which I think is wide of the mark, prompted me to recall my visit to Iceland in 1987. Three years previously there had been an eruption along a 4.5 kilometre split where the Amrican Tectonic Plate and The European Plate were moving apart. One or two cones had been raised and to the horror of my late wife and our Icelandic guide I went to have a look into one of these. Guess what! I saw through a small crack the red centre of our world. We cannot put a large steel girder between these two plates and hold them together. Eruptions throughout the world happen everyday and that is what will cause climate change and we have no control. Iceland is one of the number of places I have visted to see the real nature of this restless world on which we live.
