“A country that just has to be visited”
Reviewed September 30, 2013

This is a great trip to go round Iceland and capture the beauty and range of landscapes on offer. We had winds, rain, snow and sun to go with Whale watching and the northern lights all in 9 days. Along the way we were dazzled with breathtaking landscapes of volcanoes, mountains, glaciers and waterfalls. This is a great trip to get an overview of Iceland or more detailed trips can be taken of each area. I will definitely be going back sometime in the future and probably go back a few times more.

“Two Days in Iceland”
Reviewed September 28, 2013

We came by ship to Reykjavik and spent the goodly part of two days. First, we took a shuttle into the main part of town from the Port (some folks walked, about 2 miles). But we did our walking after we got off the shuttle. We had rain a good part of the first day, so frequently took shelter, the temperature was about 45F, but we were dressed for it. The second day we took a tour by coach and saw steam vents, residential, businesses, the university, music hall, varied attractions (house of the history Reykjavik meeting of Reagan and Gorby). There are certainly more museums per sq mile or per capita than any place else in the world, They had National Museums, for History, Art, Manuscripts and even the National Phallic Collection.

“OUR RESTLESS PLANET”
Reviewed September 28, 2013

The recent update by the IPCC which blame the population for climate change which I think is wide of the mark, prompted me to recall my visit to Iceland in 1987. Three years previously there had been an eruption along a 4.5 kilometre split where the Amrican Tectonic Plate and The European Plate were moving apart. One or two cones had been raised and to the horror of my late wife and our Icelandic guide I went to have a look into one of these. Guess what! I saw through a small crack the red centre of our world. We cannot put a large steel girder between these two plates and hold them together. Eruptions throughout the world happen everyday and that is what will cause climate change and we have no control. Iceland is one of the number of places I have visted to see the real nature of this restless world on which we live.

“Best day ever with Southcoast Adventures”
Reviewed September 27, 2013

If you must choose just 1 excursion while you are in Iceland, Porsmork is far and above the one. We were there for 9 days and this super jeep tour was the best day trip we took. Magnus, was the most extraordinary tour guide we have ever had! He made the day exciting, interesting and safe. We were never rushed; he made it quite clear that there was no time limit, we should enjoy everything . He was well informed about the area and made the day really fun. Porsmork is absolutely breathtaking and the getting there is half the adventure. We had several river crossings that were difficult as it had rained the day before. Magnus was lifing massive boulders to throw in the river so we would have rocks to step on!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! One crossing he actually carried me across!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Porsmork and Magnus (Southcoast Adventures) get a 10+ from my entire family!!!!

“Landmannalaugar and Mt. Hekla Super Jeep Tour, 11h”
Reviewed August 31, 2013

This trip was superb! We were only 5 passengers in the Super Jeep, where the guide was also the driver. Breathtaking views on the Hekla - it was raining, snowing and then sunny again. Partly the road "disappeared" in front of us as the ridges were so steep.
What an experience to have a bath in Landmannalaugar's natural waters - do take your swimming suit with you and enjoy.

I also went another day to Blue Lagoon SPA. That is great and no-one should leave Iceland without enjoying those facilities.

Thank you very much for this positive review. It's great to hear that you enjoyed your tours.
Landmannalaugar and the Blue Lagoon are some of Iceland's popular bathing spots, although natural pools and warm swimming pools are found all across the country. Soaking in hot water is Icelanders' favorite pastime!
I wonder if you heard this joke whilst you were in Iceland - if you don't like the weather just wait a minute!
