“A real spa”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 26, 2013

Of course Icelandic pools are the best and better than any spa I know. Laugardalslaug is no exception to the rule. It has it all. A very good 50 m. swimming area. A very big area for playing and relaxing. Very good hot-tubs and slides and saunas and big dressing areas. You name it, it's there! It is too big for my taste that is why I don't rate it fully.

“Urban Thermal Springs!”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 21, 2013

If your trip to Iceland only gives you enough time to stay in Reykjavik and not fully explore the country, then you must check out these thermal springs! No trip to Iceland is complete without a soak in thermal springs. That being said, this is an urban environment; the main users of the springs are Reykjavik locals relaxing after a day at work. The pools are concrete, and will be full of people. However, with multiple small pools of differing temperatures you can choose which pool is best for you, and have a great soak!

“Relaxing and functional city retreat”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 17, 2013

I had a free pass for these thermal spas as part of a secret escape package. It was really well located to our hotel, which was about a 10minute walk away. I did find them relaxing and they served their purpose in that respect but I was slightly disappointed as I was expecting natural rather than what felt like a big swimming pool. I was lucky enough to go to the blue lagoon which was heads and shoulders above my experience at laugardaslaug but if you want something to break up a day in the city then I would still recommend coming here.

“Perfect way to unwind after a long flight!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 6, 2013

Don't miss visiting these pools during your stay in Reykjavik!

First, because the pools are amazing and you'll soon forget the hours your body was cramped in an airplane seat. They have larger pools for laps and swimming, with lots of smaller "hot tubs" to sit and relax. As you enter the pool deck, go to the left of the lap pool and you'll find about 6 of these hot tubs in varying temperatures (up to 44C) -- find the right one for you and you're set! We wish we had found these earlier in our visit!

Second because it was a nice welcome to Iceland to partake in a local activity. This isn't meant for tourists, so you'll get to experience how icelanders unwind & play. The entrance fee was $5-10/pp -- once you spend some time in Iceland, you'll realize what a treat that really is!

Side note: I was truly impressed with the level of cleanliness and hygiene kept up in this facility. The rules were all very clearly posted in the locker rooms and it was good to see everyone was actually following them (e.g. fully shower before enter pools, separate wet & dry areas in the locker rooms, shoes left outside the locker room, etc).
