Stayed here for one night at the start of a holiday. It is in a quiet area of town about 10 minutes walk from the town centre. The hotel is a modern building and has a lift. Our room No 406 was clean & warm with a wet room style bathroom. It was perfectly adequate for our needs. Tea & Coffee making facilities were also provided

Breakfast was buffet style with cereals, yogurt, cheese, cold meats & pastries. There was one hot option which was scrambled egg, beans & hot dog sausages. Food was plentiful and regularly replenished. No problems whatsoever and we would happily use it again

Stayed here for the first and last couple of nights on a tour of South East Iceland. Very clean and entirely adequate yet not particularly expensive by Icelandic standards. When I was there some building work / renovation was going on and there was some noise until about 17:00. Very helpful reception staff, great buffet breakfast. Wetroom rather than a bathroom with a shower cubicle. I be happy to stay here again ... 4 rather than a 5 due to the building noise

Room Tip: Rooms at the back have a view of the cathedral.

My wife and I spent 6 nights at the Fosshotel Lind - the 6th night was free. The building is modern and functional, not decorative. It is not on the main shopping/nightlife street but just a short distance from it. Our room was warm and the beds ( 2 singles pushed together) very comfortable. The bathroom was of the 'wet room' type, ie no shower tray. TV reception was poor and the free connection to the internet was not reliable in our room but fine only 2-3 metres away. The dining area is spacious and the breakfast buffet included a very wide range of food and drink. Lots of photos and artwork on the walls. The Lind's greatest asset is its staff, especially the receptionists. Elin,Kai,Estanis and co. were courteous, efficient and knowledgable. They gave excellent advice and arranged several coach trips for us with both small and large operators. We would be pleased to return.

Room Tip: Rooms at the rear of the building may admit less traffic noise during the morning rush hour, but noi...

Friendly staff, we are a couple in our 70s and didn't want to be far out of the town, just far enough. Reception very helpful, not their fault that hop on and off buses don't run until June - Sept. this makes for a bit more walking. Local bus station near for getting round the area. Room clean and beds excellent. They are updating some rooms so drilling taking place in the day, not good for long lie ins if your room is next door. Breakfast very good, room taken in a bit canteen like but quite adequate for the price. We didn't sample the evening meals.

Room Tip: Rooms which face West are away from the main street. We were on the top floor(ie 4th), room 424 The...

Wonderful Hotel for the budget minded. It is a European Hotel (small rooms). But if you read the reviews you will know that going in and it should not be an issue. I had prepaid for a 'single', after I booked the room a friend decided to join me. I e-mailed the hotel, and they advised I would just need to pay for the upgrade upon arrival. We arrived from the States around 8 am, Elin was at the desk as she was most of the time. She works 12 hour shifts most of the time. I paid the extra and the room was ready. She offered us to have breakfast which was technically not included for that day. Very kind of her and the hotel.

After getting settled into the room, I stopped again at the desk and Elin assisted us with booking our excursions. She was very nice and helpful throughout our stay.

They were remodeling some of the rooms on the lower floors. We had single beds, which were fine. i prefer a little more pillow than they had. There was an extra one by the door, and I stuffed two into one case. The comforter was nice. Looking at it I thought it would not be enough to keep me warm, but to my surprise it was very warm.(wish I could take it home).

The bathroom was small as well and the floor was a giant drain. Some days it took awhile for the hot water to get to the room, but once it did it was plenty hot.

There was a restaurant by the lobby, ConFusion They had a 'Happy Hour' daily and some food service. I was told the lamd stew was good.

This was hotel #1 on our Nordicsaga tour. After flying in from the states, we arrived way ahead of time and our room wasn't ready. They couldn't have been nicer; invited us to breakfast downstairs and sit and relax in their comfortable sofas and chairs while the staff worked on our rooms. We both are older and we were exhausted from the trip, expecting hours of wait time. To our surprise, we didn't wait much at all. Our room had everything we needed and was immaculate. You can never expect the large rooms like we have in the states, but this was a good size. You can't tell at first, but the locations is perfect. A short walk to the left and you will find yourself on the Main Street in Reykjavik. The breakfast buffet is wonderful with a large variety of food and plenty of seating room. I was very happy staying here our first night and glad we were returning on our way home. They also one shared computer with wifi that was free.

Room Tip: From what I could tell...all rooms were comparable and quiet.
