I've had the pleasure of staying here twice, in a one bedroom apartment in Castle House in 02/11 and more recently in a two bedroom at the Embassy location this month. Along with family, we've now used apartments 60 and 61 (one bed), suite 70 and suite 138, all of which have been absolutely fantastic. The photos on the website don't do these suites justice, they are spacious and comfortable and superbly located right in the centre of the city. The Embassy location particularly is a mere couple of minutes from the main restaurants and bars of the city. Honestly, I can't say I've been more impressed for accommodation given the low price relative to the high cost of Iceland. The price per person works out at less than the price of a main meal in an average restaurant, which is frankly unbelievable given the quality. If you are considering a stay in beuitiful Iceland then look no further than the Castle House apartments, definitely the best value in Reykjavik.

Good points
- Small apartment but had everything we needed (apartment 61)
- Was good to have a small kitchen area
- Staff cleaned the apartment throughly every day and even did the washing up
- Comfy matress and bedding
- TV with lots of channels
- Always warm, which is very nice coming in from the cold icelandic wind
- Perfect location couldn't ask for a better area, right opposite the city pond
- Terracing outside is good for privacy
- Lots of bars, restaurant, shops, bank etc very close by
- Had to pay a small charge for car park but this was very easy to do and it was always easy to park close by
- Friendly, welcoming staff
- Good value for money

Bad points
- Bed needs a headboard kept losing my pillow behind the back of the bed every night

Overall Thank you for a lovely stay. When I come back to Reykjavik I will be booking here again!

The apartment we stayed in was very comfortable, clean, and cozy ! We stayed in the Embassy apartments, which were in a residential neighborhood about a 7 minute walk from a part of central Reykjavik (shops, restaurants, bars, etc...). Our family loved the stay in the apartments and were very comfortable in the various rooms. Reykjavik is a very mellow and nice city, and these apartments gave us the same vibe. The apartments were cleaned daily and breakfast was nicely put in the fridge each morning. Plan ahead if you are coming early in the morning to see if you can check in early. It was a great relief to have a quiet, comfortable place after our long flight.

Castle House is a very convenient and quiet place to stay central Reykjavik (the front of the Thingholt Hotel on a Friday night cannot, for example, be described as quiet). Shops (Bonus supermarket is just up the hill and across) and all the other stuff are not really more than 5 minutes away, and yes, the Zone 3 parking in the street is very convenient. On that note, I would like to recommend City Car Hire. Their cars are not the completely pristine, but are good value and work well.

We stayed in March in flat number 10, which was fine for two of us. The flat is a marvel of economical use of space (don't both try cooking at once), but all the stuff you need is in there, with possible exception of a grill/oven? The daily cleaning is very helpful.

The flat was really warm, in fact for the first day we had to turn off all heating and open the windows when it was -4C outside, even then it was almost too warm to sleep! Previous comments about noise from above are accurate, but this is inevitable given the flight times. If this might be a problem, you could always try the top flat! Free wireless is very popular in Iceland, and you get it here too, which is just so useful. The only thing I regret is not going to the National Gallery next door!

This little set of apartments is really close to the centre of town, yet still maintains its cosy, quiet and comfy feel. We stayed for a couple of nights and were really pleased with the place. Super clean and has everything you would need for either a short or long stay. Bathrooms are equipped nicely and are modern, with great, hot ( SUPER hot!) showers. If you are driving, there is parking available in the same street which is really handy.
