Owner description: TREK Iceland is a fully licenced tour operator and travel agency with a focus on eco-friendly adventure tourism in Iceland. We offer adventures on all levels, hiking/trekking tours, glacier walks, ski tours and mountaineering. Our greatest pride is the fantastic team of guides and support staff we have working with us. Mountain guides, drivers and sales staff, their taste for adventure, years of experience and friendliness is by far the most valuable asset of our company. Our mission is providing great experiences to our customers, this we achieve with personal service and by limiting group sizes in our selection of our tours to the most unique places in Iceland.

We did the Sólheimajökull glacier walk with Gummi, and it was unquestionably the highlight of our trip. It took awhile to convince my parents they were still young enough to make the trek, but once they got on the ice, they enjoyed it so much they didn't want to come back down! Our guide Gummi was friendly, capable and humorous, and further enhanced the quality of our experience. The whole time, we felt safe and secure, and had the opportunity to go at our own pace. I would definitely recommend this trip to a friend and would be happy to do another tour with this company in the future.

We went on the Glacier Hike with Trek and it was awesome. We had a great guide, Gummi, who was really friendly and knowledgeable which greatly enhanced the experience. The only downside was that we were unable to see the puffins, but that was simply due to poor weather and the shore being closed due to a movie filming and nothing to do with the tour company.

It was really an amazing experience and I would definitely do another tour with them.

Our tour guide was one of the most personable people I have ever met. He did a great job telling us all about the culture and natural wonders of Iceland. I learned a ton and truly enjoyed the entire experience. Even whe it started to pour down rain at the end of our glacier hike everyone had a great time. The fact that we got to see more than just the one glacier was amazing. I would highly recommend a trip with this company!

The Sólheimajökull Glacier Walk-Day Tour from Trek Iceland (Tour Trek 01) was absolutely excellent! Our guide Gummi Magnusson was most courteous, competent, reliable, and good-humored, and we felt we were in safe hands throughout. Not being among the best climbers or the youngest adventure-seekers, I wanted a glacier hike that was not too steep or long, and we found it at Trek Iceland. It was a major highlight of our trip to this amazing country. The website's claim "Suitable for most people--No previous experience necessary" was true.
Gummi picked us up promptly at 8:30 in Reykjavik in his 4WD vehicle, and at the glacier he carefully fitted us with crampons for better footing and guided us up the mild slopes of the ice. Even then we needed to step carefully, and the waterproof boots recommended by Frommer's Iceland were essential, Gummi's experience as a rescue volunteer added a sense of security. On the way back, our stops at the waterfall and seashore were great, with puffins on the cliffs (although I found the walk up a narrow rock ledge behind the waterfall to be challenging). Gummi's selections of Icelandic music and comedy were an added bonus. We returned to Reykjavik by 6:00 pm after an exhilarating adventure, Much appreciation to Trek Iceland and Gummi.

We went on the Sólheimajökull glacier hike on 10 July this year. The weather was beautiful and our guide Guðmundur was skilled and knowledgeable. We spent a little over 3 hours hiking on the glacier and after that we went to the black sand beach, Skógafoss waterfall and then visited Seljalandsfoss waterfalls. Not only did we have a great time, I was able to capture some great photographs. I would definitely recommend this trip to anyone that is looking for an exciting adventure.
